I've been using Diigo for quite a while already and have also tried several other social bookmarking services. But to me Diigo's functionality and intuitive ease of use are outstanding. Thank you for the amazing service!

Diigo is the best bookmarking and annotation tool without any doubt....unique features helpful for students- u go on highlighting a web page...u may do it in any order...first the beginning line, then something in the end paragraph..and then something in middle...but in the end diigo will organise everything in order...and dropdown menu lets u anotate with ease..no need of clicking a bookmarklet..and there r not many popups coming when u want to save...i have tried other apps in this category like webnotes,i highlighter,googlenotebook,ubernote,evernote,delicious,digg,clipmarks...but no one can beat diigo as a reseach tool and an annotation tool...the closest i think is evernote..but its not free..so what r u waiting...start diigo-ing...

is this annotation only viewable to the Diigo Educator group, or all Diigo users? What would happen if there were comments you didn't like (perhaps vulgar)? How do you control viewing these?

    Ben,

These are comments from Diigo users. A good showcase of Diigo's floating note web annotation. There is another type of web annotation that's associated with a highlighted paragraph - see our HELP section to learn more.

Check out this site... it is a way you can highlight and otherwise annotate web pages. If you find this tool useful, it is actually a social bookmarking tool, so you can connect with friends, colleagues and classmates and share what you are viewing on the web. If enough of us are interested, this can be a way we share information within this class as well. Check it out... see what you think, but if you do not have time or energy to spend on this this semester, no worries, it is optional.

What's the deal with Public vs. Private comments?

This is a public comment. But when I try to add a floating comment, I can make it public... Is it 'turned off'?

love the tool however! Learning more each day

  • vale24

Pariah, if you have an educator account http://help.diigo.com/teacher-account/getting-started then they will be private for that educational group
