Mac only: Smoother text for times
By default, Mac OS X is set to turn off text smoothing for sizes 8 and smaller. The text styling we used for times on event chips (in day, week, and next n views) sets the text at a small size that falls just below this threshold. Thus, the times appear jagged and less legible than all other smooth type you’re accustomed to seeing. To fix this, go to System Preferences > Appearanceand set the text smoothing threshold to 6 and smaller. -
Keyword access
I use a Cmd-n shortcut in Safari to quickly access frequent locations sitting in my Bookmarks Bar, or I use Sogudi shortcuts to initiate one of my preset customized searches.
Until recently, I forgot that Firefox (and Camino) has this same quick-access capability built in. In Mozilla-based products, they’re called keywords. Once you have a bookmark set for Google Calendar, add a short, simple keyword you’ll remember by editing that bookmark’s properties in the Bookmark Manager. For Google Calendar, I use gc. Then, even if the Navigation Toolbar is hidden, I hit Cmd-l on my Mac to open a location pane (Ctrl-l on a PC), type gc and hit Enter, and I’m there. Note: This tip applies to any site you access frequently in Firefox, Camino, or Mozilla. -
Have an event that repeats on the same days each week, but it doesn’t fit the school-friendly Mon/Wed/Fri or Tues/Thurs combinations in the Repeats pulldown? Select “Every week” and you’ll get a series of checkboxes for each day of the week that you can use to generate any custom weekly recurrence.

Add agenda to Gmail
This one is a little more involved, but useful if you’re primarily a Gmail user and don’t keep Calendar running all the time. The Add Calendar Feed is a Greasemonkey script that can subscribe to one of your Calendar feeds, then display an upcoming agenda in the left column of Gmail in the same type of expandable/coll
apsible module as your Labels and Talk contacts. I haven’t tested this one, so I can’t vouch for it, but it looks pretty cool. If you can’t figure out how to add it yourself, these detailed instructions look pretty helpful.

Emmanuel HugonnetSince I’ve been an early user of Google Calendar for a few months now, thought I’d share a few tips that may make the jump a little smoother for others. Some tips may seem obvious, other tips may be completely new to you. Specifically, I’ve noticed
