The most promising social annotation tool I found is Diigo, and I will cover it as soon as I get an invitation to join the early adopter group. A very detailed review has been provided by Brian Benzinger on Solution Watch. (ITRedux)
A nice alternative to plain bookmarks where you can highlight, make comments and clip information from websites. Share and collaborate with others about websites. Pretty neat tool.
Fantastic, incredible site. So useful, Can bookmark, can annotate, can add stickies, can collaborate, can filter tags, can open all in tabs, can post to other sites, etc, etc. Awesome!
highlight important paragraphs with a highlighter and put Sticky Notes on the page, just as you would while reading a book. With the help of highlight, it really gets better search results
Though I liked StickyNotes.com, Diigo is better in that it leaves the note on the web page itself. I'll be using this service to make notes for changes on my web sites and blogs. I can come back to them when I have time and work them off.
I'll also use this feature for my real estate technology readers to point out items of interest all over the web.
Diigo is a VERY nice product/process. I tend to surf a LOT of news articles/sites and after awhile my citations tend to go from "I read [here] last week that ..." to a few months later, "I read somewhere once that ..."
Diigo should allow me to retain specific references and annotations indefinitely into the future.
Not to mention being able to retain my bookmarks. Reformatting on occasion has done horrible things to my bookmarks, not to mention just grabbing so MANY that it's difficult to keep them straight.Diigo cures this problem for me as well since they're all stored online now and I can easily edit and reorganize them.
I expect to get a LOT of milage out of Diigo. Love the concept!
From review at solutionwatch.com [solutionwatch.com] : "You can bookmark a site, take notes, save snippets of text and graphics, highlight sentences on a site, and even share notes on a site with others." I prefer their bookmarklet to their toolbar
Social Annotation: Seamless Integration of Social Bookmarking, Web Highlighter, Sticky-Note & Clipping" - some kind of uber-meta web annotation thing. local copies, x-posting to del.icio.us - looks awesome.
Social bookmarking, tagging, sharing of resources, persistent highlighting, sticky notes and conversations all within the context of the web page. A great tool for education and the learning enterprise in general.
Diigo (dee'go) is about "Social Annotation". By combining social bookmarking, clippings, in situ annotation, tagging, full-text search, easy sharing and interactions, Diigo offers a powerful personal tool and a rich social platform for knowledge users, and in the process, turns the entire web into a writable, participatory and interactive media.
Diigo was used to create this presentation. By tagging all the bookmarks that I wanted for the Btech conference as Btech, I could quickly retrieve and create a webslide out of them The notes are a printed Diigo bookmarks page.
Internet Choice let's you compare over 600 broadband plans from 15 of Australia 's leading Whether you are looking for ADSL, Cable, Wireless or ADSL2+ providers, we have all the best plans available for you right here on one site.
I'll also use this feature for my real estate technology readers to point out items of interest all over the web.
Really rocks!
