In a department that collaborates effectively, project tunings are regular part of the planning process and encourage all staff to voice their ideas and opinions by ‘sharing the air’.

"Effective collaboration is an important aspect of a successful department. Over the last two years I have helped implement different ways to encourage synergy both within and between different departments. I use the word synergy because when this is achieved the outcome or work you try to achieve is greater than the sum of each individual contributor in a department. Learning sessions and schemes of learning for example are far more effectively produced when a team works with synergism. Effective teams have effective leaders that encourage synergism."
