Now how do we know this is accurate? BTW - according to this source (and Google for the river length) - New York is 285 miles longer to Rome than the length of the Amazon.
If you put all of the world's population into an area of the United States, and packed them in together at the same population density as Paris, it would take up an area equal to Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Maps that show this any many other unusual ideas (current countries boundaries if they were imposed on Pangaea), prove that maps don't just show "where things are"
