    • MySQL Administrator is a powerful visual administration console that enables you to easily administer your MySQL environment and gain significantly better visibility into how your databases are operating. MySQL Administrator now integrates database management and maintenance into a single, seamless environment, with a clear and intuitive graphical user interface.
    • Metastorage is an application that automatically generates code for an Object Oriented API to store, retrieve and manipulate the data objects of classes described in a high level data model definition.  Metastorage provides a much more efficient development process for medium or large size applications that store and retrieve data from SQL based databases or other types of storage persistence containers, like XML files, flat file databases or LDAP servers.
    • The SQLite Database Engine provides a lightweight C library to access database files using a large subset of SQL92 without the overhead of RDBMS server processes. In order to use that functionality as a desktop database I wrapped the SQLite library into an ODBC driver.
    • SQLite Database Browser is a freeware, public domain, open source visual tool used to create, design and edit database files compatible with SQLite. It is meant to be used for users and developers that want to create databases, edit and search data using a familiar spreadsheet-like interface, without the need to learn complicated SQL commands.
    • This is a simple program for managing sqlite3 databases. It requires the latest version of sqlite3.dll, at least 3.07.
    • SQLiteManager is a multilingual web based tool to manage SQLite database. The programming language used is: PHP4, but work fine with PHP5. Work just as well on a platform Linux as on Windows.

    • The DBManager Professional is the most powerful application for data management. With builtin support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Interbase/Firebird, SQLite, Xbase tables, MSAccess, MSSQL Server, Sybase and Oracle database engines, it also brings you new features which make it the most advanced application. It comes in two editions so you can choose the one that will fit your needs: Freeware and Enterprise. The Freeware edition is totally functional and some features are not even available in any other free software for database management. The Enterprise Edition is a commercial product, although inexpensive, if compared with other commercial products available in the market.
    • The SyncML initiative recently consolidated into the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), contributing their technical work to the OMA technical Working Groups: Device Management Working Group and Data Synchronization Working Group.
    • Mobility places many demands on a system. Size and weight constraints limit the computing resources on a mobile client. Network connectivity is highly variable, and sometimes non-existent. Battery life is a nagging concern. In spite of these challenges, mobile users need to access and update information at any time and from any place.
    • Can you trust the leading open-source database engines, PostgreSQL and MySQL, to deliver the performance and features that the Oracles, SQL Servers, and DB2s of the world do? Not just yet, but they could offer enough to meet your needs. Find out how they stack up against each other, as well as against the commercial alternatives.
    • dbPerceptor is a PHP code generator for managing the content of a MySQL database.  It's a way of providing a user-friendly administration interface for a database, without going to the trouble of writing all the code from scratch. dbPerceptor displays add/edit forms according configuration files you specify. These configuration files allow you to tailor the application to your database, rather than the other way around.  Unlike PhpMyAdmin, dbPerceptor is not a full database editor-- you can't create tables and fields or run ad-hoc queries. dbPerceptor is meant for end users who need to manage content from their web browser after the database has been created.
    • How many times have you hand coded a MySQL table editor in PHP? phpMyEdit application provides an instant table editor.  phpMyEdit generates PHP code for displaying/editing MySQL tables in HTML. All you need to do is to write a simple calling program (a utility to do this is included). It includes a huge set of table manipulation functions (record addition, change, view, copy, and removal), table sorting, filtering, table lookups, and more.
    • A PHP 4 & 5 library to allow easy and user-friendly editing of MySQL tables. Note this is a library and not an application. It will be of no use unless you do some coding (not exactly a great deal though - see below).  Note: This is not meant to be an alternative or replacement to phpMyAdmin. This is something you can provide to users to manage tables without them happily destroying your database.
    • Slony-I is a "master to multiple slaves" replication system with cascading and failover.  The big picture for the development of Slony-I is a master-slave system that includes all features and capabilities needed to replicate large databases to a reasonably limited number of slave systems.  Slony-I is a system for data centers and backup sites, where the normal mode of operation is that all nodes are available.
    • phpPgAdmin is a web-based administration tool for PostgreSQL. It is perfect for PostgreSQL DBAs, newbies and hosting services.
    • PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the PostgreSQL server, allowing it to be used as a backend spatial database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension. PostGIS follows the OpenGIS "Simple Features Specification for SQL" and has been certified as compliant with the "Types and Functions" profile.
    • OpenFTS (Open Source Full Text Search engine) is an advanced PostgreSQL-based search engine that provides online indexing of data and relevance ranking for database searching. Close integration with database allows use of metadata to restrict search results.
    • Getting Postgres/Ruby up and running on Windows used to be a bit of a hassle. Not able to find a satisfactory solution, I started this project. It will be maintained actively.
    • Sphinx is a full-text search engine, distributed under GPL version 2. Commercial licensing is also available upon request.  Generally, it's a standalone search engine, meant to provide fast, size-efficient and relevant fulltext search functions to other applications. Sphinx was specially designed to integrate well with SQL databases and scripting languages. Currently built-in data source drivers support fetching data either via direct connection to MySQL, PostgreSQL, or from a pipe in a custom XML format.  As for the name, Sphinx is an acronym which is officially decoded as SQL Phrase Index. Yes, I know about CMU's Sphinx project.
