A small app will record from your computer over slides and videos. You will probably quickly run out of storage on the KV cloud and be asked to move to the (paid) pro version. However, this might be useful for students to make their own presentation sound great -- good listening/speaking practice. Students must sign up to use the app, but can share their productions through email addresses. I don't know if it is any simpler or more functional than the built in recording function of PowerPoint, or any of the free recorders like Audacity.
Very young learners learning about facts vs. opinion in Social Studies. Students create a poster demonstrating what they have learned about American symbols. Video shows relationship to several Common Core standards.
Supporting ELLs by sharing with a second partner. Students need to remember what the first partner said and use their name as they paraphrase. A little like the "Telephone" game.
R. Stannard has some instruction about how to use the ESL magazine, Breaking News English, which has games to play online, as well as an audio reading of the content, in various accents. A well-thought out set of activities, not just drill-and-grill.
The second site he discusses in Listen A Minute, which is for lower level students, and has shorter articles to read, as well as listening gap fill, jumble, and other activities.
An interesting article on podcasting by Forbes online, predictin that podcasting is the future because of its ubiquity on both iOS and Android mobile phones. The younger generation is once again leading innovation's way with what to us older users was a technology of the 2000s. Podcasting has many uses for ESL/EFL, and having your students create a regular podcast series, scripting and recording it; or having them do podcast exchanges with students in another country -- these will be memorable learning experiences.

The teacher poses an open-ended question based on actual historical documents that demonstrate opposing or differing views. Philosophical Chairs has students discuss the opposing texts. Each student expresses and opinion and then others "take sides" by physically moving to join the group where the idea they favor has been expressed. At least three students must express an opinion in the group before movement is allowed. The teacher puts notes on each opinion on the board as students speak. Interviews are a great way to give students authentic listening-speaking and note-taking practice. The StoryCorps has created a massive archive of oral histories and this question generator will be a great tool for your students, both to think about what should be in an interview, and how to develop questions.

In the game students are awarded points for using each of six questioning and discussion methods. Students can lose points for interrupting or distracting others."

A simple online recorder to get you started with podcasting. The tool creates an mp3 file that you can download or share with a link. R. He also suggests a number of ways to use recording exchange with your students for feedback/formative assessment as well as for listening/speaking practice.

How important the rules of conversation are! We all too often expect our students to "get into groups and discuss," but how often are these productive conversations? These tips/strategies are well worth practicing at the beginning of every year/semester, and not just with young learners. These tips are also a nice practice for EFL/ESL students as they prepare to speak with native speakers.
Famous actors read from children's books. Nice place to be read to if parents don't speak English, or are too busy. Stories from many lands, in English.
This might be a nice way for students to get listening practice. Though set up to read blog-to-sound, students could also read the blog while listening. he teacher might also set up a blog and insert texts or words specifically for students to follow on audio.
