• Et af parametrene i Googles algoritme er, at jo mere populær en side er, jo højere rangerer den blandt søgeresultaterne. Og da sjældne sygdomme per definition ikke er populært stof, vil de ikke placere sig særlig højt i Google.

• The libcrypto.so that comes with googleearth is not compatible with libssl.so that is installed on OpenSUSE.
• Just remove or rename libcrypto.so.0.9.8 in the ~/google-earth directory so that OpenSUSEs own libcrypto gets used instead.

• Getting Amarok ready with mp3 support is quite easy and requires basically the same procedure on all versions of SUSE Linux/openSUSE.
• Add Packman as an installation source
• Install libxine1 and amarok-xine
• Use xine engine in Amarok

• Drivers installed correctly? See ATI and NVIDIA to set them up.
• running grep Composite /var/log/Xorg.0.log as root should show Extension "Composite" is enabled
• for KDE3 you can set Compiz in KDE Control Center -> KDE Components -> Session Manager
• Use compizconfig-settings-manager(ccsm) or Desktop Effects(simple-ccsm), GUI plugin configuration tools.

• Prerequisites

   
  • compiler gcc,  
  • program make and  
  • package kernel-source
• go to NVIDIA Download Page, and get the latest drivers

• go to runlevel 3 by typing the following comand as root in one of the consoles (which you can access by pressing ctrl-alt-f1 [f1 up to f6]) 

   

  init 3 

   

  Now go to the directory containing the drivers. 

   

  cd /usr/share/doc/nvidia 

   

  or 

   

  cd /the/path/where/you/saved/the/drivers/from/nvidia/website 

   

  Now simply type the following and follow instructions 

   

  sh NVIDIA-Linux-<arch>-<version>-<build>-<pkg#>.run -q 

• The next step is to configure the X.org to use the new nvidia drivers. To do this, type the following 

   

  sax2 -r

• add-ons installed on the 64-bit version are not recognized by the 32-bit version
• Since bookmarks are stored in your ~/.mozilla directory, they are available to both versions of Firefox
• If you have openSUSE package 'java-1_6_0-sun-plugin' installed, uninstall it.
• Install a 32-bit compatibility environment
• Download the tarball, not rpm, version of the Sun Java 32-bit Runtime
• Download the Firefox distro for your language from Mozilla.
• tar -xvf /path/to/firefox-2.0.0.8.tar.gz
• sh /path/to/jre-6u3-linux-i586.bin
• Install the plugin manually by linking it.

• your environment still reflects the system-wide installation of Java. A script fixes that and a few common problems with the installation and execution: 

   

  vi ~/bin/firefox32
