Book Review: "The New Influencers: A Marketer's Guide to the New Social Media" - Media Bullseye
-
“The New Influencers” provides excellent resources and advice useful for anyone attempting to educate an organization about social media. I recommend it to “newbies” as well as those with more experience—it is always good to take in a fresh perspective, and I think that’s what Gillin is offering here.

Having a plan (or at least a theme) to make networking work

I decided to go to a talk next week by Paul Gillin
, author of The New Influencers
. I was so impressed by his book that I circulated it in our office. My role is technical, but the book is all about strategic marketing--a role I want to play at work and in my own self promotion
of this blog (wherever it leads) and the other projects I'm working on.

Well, here I am again. I wanted to take a moment of everyone’s valuable time to thank Deborah Burns for referring me to the Book – “The New Influences” by Paul Gillin. I just finished it and (yes, I’m a slow reader) found it fascinating and insightful. I just purchased a copy for every Past President and every member of the Leadership Team, as well as every Staff Vice President of NAR.

Joho the Blog » Paul Gillin’s marketing book up in draft
Paul Gillin has posted draft chapters of his new book, Secrets of Social Marketing, for our enjoyment and, more important, our commentary. I haven’t taken a look at them yet, but I like to see people practicing what they preach, and Paul’s The New Influencers was good.

Market View: The new influencers
-
Reading a new book that I love. Can't believe I waited so long to actually read it, but now I cannot put it down. It is called "The New Influencers" by Paul Gillin. The book discusses the beginnings, trends and future of social media. It highlights how internet resources (blogs, podcasts, etc) are giving a voice and level of influence to the consumer, like never before in history. This shift has conventional companies scrambling to see how to use this in their favor. The rules of traditional media and PR have changed, shifting the power to those who just a few years ago, would never have had a voice, let alone a following.
