"A national survey finds Americans rely highly on Google searches as a source of health care information. The survey, conducted in April 2010 by Capstrat and Public Policy Polling, finds 22 percent of respondents consider Google searches "influential" in seeking health information. The search engine ranked second only to doctors (44 percent) in reported influence and was named more than twice as often as nurses, pharmacists, advocacy groups and friends or family members. "

"In 2009, legislation mandated that doctors make use of electronic medical records by 2013 to help make the healthcare process run smoother and more efficiently. This information video (below) produced by HonestPancake explains the basics of the why and how. "
"Removing employers from health insurance and moving everybody to the individual market would increase both paychecks and, potentially, tax revenue. "
"Drug companies have long kept secret details of the payments they make to doctors for promoting their drugs. But seven companies have begun posting names and compensation on the Web, some as the result of legal settlements. ProPublica compiled these disclosures, totaling $258 million, into a single database that allows patients to search for their doctor. Receiving payments isn’t necessarily wrong, but it does raise ethical issues. "
"The data sets are summarized by meaningful Healthcare Common Procedure Coding/Current Procedural Terminology, (HCPC/CPT), code ranges. Brief descriptions for the code ranges and modifiers are provided in the readme file. The data set name contains the year followed by a five character sequence that is the HCPC/CPT code. This HCPC/CPT code corresponds to the first HCPC/CPT in the selected code range of disciplines. Within each code range are, procedural, condition, or description subheadings. Each data set displays the allowed services, allowed charges, and payment amounts by HCPC/CPT codes and prominent modifiers. These reports will only illustrate the modifiers where duplicative claim submissions occur. This is to avoid duplicate counting of services. Utilization for modifiers not affected by duplicative counting are collapsed into the Other category on the reports. Therefore, not all Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published modifiers are illustrated. The file is updated annually and usually available by September for the previous year."

In metropolitan areas, HUD defines Small Areas using ZIP Codes within the metropolitan area. Using ZIP codes as the basis for FMRs provides tenants with greater ability to move into “Opportunity Neighborhoods” with jobs, public transportation, and good schools. They also provide for multiple payment standards within a metropolitan area, and they are likely to reduce need for extensive market area rent reasonableness studies. Lastly, HUD hopes that setting FMRs for each ZIP code will reduce overpayment in lower-rent areas.
