thejeshgn gnShivaji Maharaj escaped from the siege of siddi Johar of Bijapur. There was torrential rain. Whole night the marathas were running with palakhi of maharaj. Siddi massod, son-in-law of siddi Johar chased maharaj and could traced him near Gajapur khind. This is at the foot steps of Vishalgadh. Bajiprabhu the great, asked maharj to proceed to vishalgadh. He also told maharaj that after reaching there, he shall fire canons as a sign of his safe arival. Bajiprbhu, along with just 50 other soldiers, had blodked the ways of siddi Masood till late evening. Baji was anxiously waiting for the firing from canon. TOPHE AADHI PADE NA BAJI SANGA MRITYULA. (Tell death to wait till canon firing) Maharaj entry to Vishalgad was blocked by Chandrrao and Suryarao of Bijapur. Maharaj had to fight with them. Whole night marathas were running. They were completely tied, exhausted. Surya - chandra should hae asked maharaj to take rest and they should have faught with Masood. But this is the unfortunate part of our history that our own men faught aginst our patriots. Bajiprabhu had received hundreds of injuries yet did not give way to Massod. Finally Maharaj entered in Vishalgadh. As soon as he entered, he ordered to fire canons as indication of his safe arrival. During this moment, Bajiprabhu was killed by Bijapur army. Afterward he received honour by Maharaj. This part of maharastra is know as Hiradus Maval
