With the introduction of Notebooks to the OneNote 2007 hierarchy, I’ve found myself getting lost more. I use the back button, expand/contract notebooks pane, and search features to help navigate, but needed a “favorites” list. So I stole the concept of a “Dashboard” from MindManager and implemented it in OneNote…
I find this much easier when switching tasks on the fly. I can jump from my Daily Log (section hyperlink, by month) to my Projects List (notebook hyperlink) to my honey-do-list (only a page, but should be a notebook!) with only two clicks. Also when I add new notebooks/sections/pages, it doesn’t mess up my habitual places on the screen to click.
