      Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian GNU/Linux provides more than a pure OS: it comes with over 15490 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine.

      Ubuntu

      Ubuntu is a free, open source operating system that starts with the breadth of Debian and adds regular releases (every six months), a clear focus on the user and usability (it should "Just Work", TM) and a commitment to security updates with 18 months of support for every release. Ubuntu ships with the latest Gnome release as well as a selection of server and desktop software that makes for a comfortable desktop experience off a single installation CD.

      (This distribution also has a "Live CD" you can use to test the distribution before you install it)

Fedora Core is built to provide choice. It includes the latest versions of many software packages, including both GNOME and KDE desktop environments. Fedora Extras, a repository built entirely by volunteers, provides thousands more packages, and is enabled for use by default.

    • Geranamine, I use 3-4 grams of chocamine and i don't get the same effects as taking four amp capsules. I honestly think a high enough dose of staright geranamine would produce drug like results.

      • Tip - Create a Dashboard (links page)

        <!-- .entry-meta -->
        <!-- .entry-head -->

        With the introduction of Notebooks to the OneNote 2007 hierarchy, I’ve found myself getting lost more. I use the back button, expand/contract notebooks pane, and search features to help navigate, but needed a “favorites” list. So I stole the concept of a “Dashboard” from MindManager and implemented it in OneNote…

        • Create a new Notebook called “Links” (or shortcuts, dashboard, favorites, etc…)
        • Move that notebook to the top of the list.
        • Go to your favorite notebook, section, page and right-click to “Copy a Hyperlink to this…” and paste it onto your page in the Links notebook.
        • Repeat. Then organize and keep it all in view.

        I find this much easier when switching tasks on the fly. I can jump from my Daily Log (section hyperlink, by month) to my Projects List (notebook hyperlink) to my honey-do-list (only a page, but should be a notebook!) with only two clicks. Also when I add new notebooks/sections/pages, it doesn’t mess up my habitual places on the screen to click.

  • MediaMonkey :: View topic - Remember Playback Position on 2007-01-09
    • "Remember Playback Position" and "Skip When Shuffling". It not only works in Itunes, but transfers over to the Ipod as well. AND, once it is checked in Itunes, it will still transfer to the Ipod, even if I transfer the file using MediaMonkey, which means it is marked INSIDE THE FILE somehow. So it should be easy to have this option in MediaMonkey as well. What would be great, is if MediaMonkey could integrate this into Auto-playlists as well, where I could have an auto-playlist that says any time a file is the Genre "Audiobook" or "Podcast", automatically apply these options.
