THE former boss of north Cumbria’s hospitals has defended her decision not to suspend a top director despite claims that he had assaulted a senior nurse.
Marie Burnham, who ran the West Cumberland Hospital and Cumberland Infirmary until earlier this year, insists she took the allegations seriously.
Former assistant director of nursing Sarina Saiger claims she was assaulted by her boss, Bruce Skilbeck.
