jschriefShows a video of students studied by Harvard of their understanding of moon phases and seasons. Prior knowledge comes into play and shows that students are rarely right in the examples which shows teachers that prior knowledge is a key thing to test for before moving on to harder topics.
Use: I might show a clip of this video to show students that what they know may be incorrect but also may be correct even though I don't show it. I want to show a variety of ways to do problems. I would hope that this video would inspire them to show ways they know work that I haven't thought of. Also, it reminds me to test prior knowledge. This would be a great video to show during an in-service day. -
