Hello,
I have an interesting problem that cropped up a few days ago. First off, we have Comcast for our Internet Provider. We have a web server with GoDaddy and we use FileZilla to FTP to the site.
Ok, so here is the problem. About 2 days ago when I would download stuff from our server the download speeds were, and still are, around 10 to 20kbps. Now we FTP everyday from the site and average more like 300 to 500kbps so 10 to 20kbps is definately a problem.
So I have done the standard power cycle the cable modem and the router and that did not fix the problem. So I called GoDaddy and they checked out the server and said everything is fine. I called Comcast, everything is fine there too. So, I when I went home I logged into the FTP and downloaded a file and it was really fast. So the only time it's slow is at our office. So I plugged my laptop directly into the cable modem and logged onto the FTP and again, a really fast download speed. Then I plugged it into the router and bam, slow speed again.
So I know there is an issue with the router, but here is the weird part. The only time I get the slow speed is when I am downloading from our GoDaddy server. If I do an Internet speed test or download files from other places on the web the download speed is just fine.
