Not a learning style and not really a theory

If a module isn't part of an organized whole, without some form of self- or peer- or institutional-assessment, it probably should be called an "experience"
A course used to mean some form of recognition of your learning - if there is no recognition or structure and it doesn't have an end point, it isn't a course.
