k y's List: Munich

• Beer halls will be open. And if the weather is very good I guess that the gardens will be open too.
• shops will be open as normal on saturday, they are just closed on sundays and public holidays.
• On Good Friday, if you're wandering around the town centre, there's a traditional Catholic procession through Munich's pedestrian zone. It starts at 10am at St Michael's church, and finishes at St Peter's.
  
• There's an Easter Sunday festival taking place in the Olympiapark at the stadium, from 11am till 5pm, with live bands, rides, and other activities.
• If you're thinking about going to a museum, you might want to consider the Alte Pinakothek.
• there are some TT events organised over the weekend too if you are interested and various meet ups too
• 
  A trip to the Thermal Baths at Erding on Friday during the day
  
  There is a concert at he Mufathalle on Saturday
  
  Munich Mirchi Night at he Oberanger theatre on Sunday
  
  On Monday you can learn Mjive dancing or something
• If the weather cooperates, you can hop on a tram (or bus) and explore the city, or buy a day pass and explore the surrounding area.

• A solar energy house is currently on display on Munich's Marienhof.
  
  This bungalow is covered with solar panels and actually generates more power than would be required by someone living there.
  
  In fact, if you lived there you could theoretically sell the energy it generates and earn around €2,700 per year.
  
  The house was designed and built by students at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 2007 it won the Solar Decathalon competition in the US.
  
  The house is now on tour around Germany. It'll remain in Munich until April 15, 2009.

• I am planning on going to the Thermé Erding spa today, Europe's largest spa complex. It costs €21,- for MVV combi ticket which includes return S-Bahn and entrance to the clothed part of the compley and slides. I plan to go to the Spa section which then costs €10,- more for 4 or 5 hours.
  
  In the Spa complex there is a cocktail bar situated in the pool, there are over 25 different saunas including:
  
  • one huge circular sauna with a hole in the floor where a geyser gushes out from time to time;
  • one, the Backstüben, where the occasionally bake bread in the oven there;
  • one, the Bierstübel, is men-only and I saw someone bringing a crate of beer round;
  • another which is done up in Italian-style and has classical/opera music;
  • women-only saunas
  
  There is a heated outside pool with water jets etc, pools with various minerals, a romantic restaurant in the style of an Italian villa and much more... They bring face packs, scrubs around from time to time too.
