This lecture, and my lecture on forms, is like a Cliff's notes version of the Opera web standards lectures. If you find the OWS lectures overwhelming, stick to these. :)
This is a step by step tutorial, and it works best if you take the time to code along with the article. If you can do this, you will have a very practical understanding of the parts of a form.
Read Chapters 8 and 9, Tables and Definition Lists and Forms. Pages 145 - 208.
