A WIRRAL professor will be heading-up one of the first Cancer Research UK centres to be launched in the country.
Professor John Neoptolemos, who lives in Neston, is a surgeon at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and head of the University of Liverpool’s cancer studies.
He will now become a chair of the new Cancer Research UK Centre’s board.
A WIRRAL Human Papillomavirus immunisation programme, which is helping protect girls and young women from cervical cancer, has been held up as an example of good practice at a Department of Health conference in London.

WYTHENSHAWE hospital boss Peter Morris is to take over as interim chief executive of one of London's most famous teaching hospitals, Barts and the London.
