A DOCTOR who had cocaine in his surgery is appearing in front of the General Medical Council today.
Traces of the Class A drug were found on the desk of Dr Fabrizio Equizi at Claremont Medical Centre, Maghull, on May 4, 2007.
Equizi, of Red Cat Lane, Crank, St Helens, was fined £500 for the drugs offence at Liverpool crown court.
ORMSKIRK hospital’s maternity unit was forced to close its doors to expectant mums seven times last year.
The unit closed to new admissions once in March, three times in September, once in November and twice in December due to lack of beds or too few staff.
The figures were revealed in a survey of maternity closures across all NHS trusts by the Conservatives.
