With a new year right around the corner and this being my last post before that time. I thought I would end the year right and provide you all with the most important infographic I have found to date. An infographic on the female orgasm. I have been holding this one in reserve, not knowing if it was appropriate, but now I figure what the hell. Apparently the female orgasm is not only allusive to men, but to women as well.
Resume writing is critical throughout your professional life. Resumes open the door to an education, a job, and a lifestyle. While in the past a simple paper resume did the trick, with the messy job market and fast growing technological resources resumes definitely need a sprucing.
I live in a college town, so even if I hid under a rock, it would be obvious that another school year is beginning. Another school year fraught with potentially stressful situations: concurrently scheduled exams, classes filled with strangers, and the ubiquitous pressure of GPAs. Life is stressful in general, but college students face high levels of stress compounded with newfound independence. Its no wonder the pressure is too much. Today’s infographic takes a look at stressed-out students and what they can do to enhance their mental health.
To sum up today’s infographic I can say the creators really like chocolate milk. Chocolate milk is a dessert, there’s now way it could be healthy, yet compared to drinks like cola it is a much smarter choice. When we were kids we were told milk made us bigger and stronger, I was never told chocolate milk did the same. I’m heading to the store tomorrow to get some Hershey’s Syrup to have chocolate milk with every meal. Who says only kids can drink it. I want strong bones too.
As time has progressed so has medical science resulting in longer, healthier lives, at least for those who can afford it. Unlike third world countries here in the United States of America we don’t have much to worry about in regards to our health. Society has become more and more obsessed with appearance, so much so that some plastic surgery procedures have managed to make it to the list of top 14 medical procedures. In America we sure do like to eat and it shows with liposuction being the top cosmetic procedure with 203,106 done in 2010.
As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 draws near, we'll be hearing a lot about the World Trade Center. This infographic from history.com is filled with facts and figures about the rebuilding of the new World Trade Center.
The role of the resume has remained constant throughout its 500 years of existence — the point of the resume is to get a job.
Relative to other forms of communication, though, it hasn’t changed all that much. In fact, most of the changes have been merely cosmetic — most employers still require a one-sheet, black-and-white printed resume at interviews, regardless of the fact that we all use email and have had access to much better design options for years now. Not to mention, printing is unnecessary in the digital world we live in. At this point, even the role of cover letters in today’s job market is being scrutinized.
Have you browsed the web using Netscape Navigator? Do you remember Geocities? What about Altavista? Dialing into the nearest AOL (back then it was all upper case) network?
A lot has changed. Mostly for the best. Schools have really benefited from a more connected planet. As has almost everyone with an Internet connection.Lucky for us, the animated gifs of the past have seemed to somewhat die out and have been replaced with Facebook ‘like’ buttons and other social media sharing tools. Hey, I’ll take it.
Red and blue seem to be the most sought after colors for a brand. Although, Google and MSN are the top two internet companies and they use a multicolor logo. We use a multicolored logo here at Daily Infographic, we know what’s cool. [Via]
To make sure your week starts off nice and cheery today’s infographic How will you die? presents the most likely way you will die depending on race, gender, and age. If you are a 21 year old Hispanic like me, we are most likely to die of unintentional injury which according to today’s infographic is most likely to be a car accident. If you are 65 or older, no matter your ethnicity, you are most likely to die from heart disease, congratulations.
The Cardinals of St. Louis are the champions of the baseball world. This #WorldSeries was one of the most social media heavy sporting events to date. Fueled by our childhood love of baseball cards, we put together this stat-filled card which looks at how the Fall Classic played out on Twitter. Feel free to share (and stick it in the spokes of your Schwinn). Special thanks to our friends at Simply Measured for all their help.
Two weeks ago I posted my thoughts and additional research evidence in response to the “Is Social Media Ruining Students?” infographic. I’ve often hoped that someone would create an infographic that used my data but that also didn’t jump to sensational conclusions. Looks like someone did just that– this infographic uses data from our Twitter study. What I’d really love to see is an infographic that summarizes an academic paper– that is, not only represents the interesting findings, but also the limitations. There’s only one way to do that: by teaming the artist up with the researcher.
"It seems like law enforcement officials have always had sort of a rough time of things, probably from the very beginning of the profession. Most people tend to have an automatic reaction to seeing or interacting with police, and the general reaction usually tends to fall along the lines of either fear or anger. This, of course, makes the law officer’s job far more difficult as they try to deal with people who are doing their best to either lie to the police or just outright elude them.
While these problems that face law enforcement will likely never be solved entirely, police officers now have a powerful new ally in dealing with those suspected of criminal activity: social media.

"The guide ‘How To Choose A Bottle of Wine’ starts off by having you decide who will be drinking the wine—and after a series of questions, the flowchart suggests the perfect wine for the occasion, whether it is to have alone at home or on a camping trip.
