• Yahoo.com is allegedly spying on its customers and acting as a proxy for U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
• That means U.S. citizens' tax dollars are being used by federal agencies to pay for information gathered in Yahoo's spying.
• According to Wired.com, Yahoo also charges the agencies for the information.

• A Yahoo customer who asked not to be identified became suspicious of Yahoo's operations when the image below appeared on his screen while downloading his e-mail.  

   
• John Young, who runs the website Cryptome.org, believes the Internet giant is gathering data from customer e-mails for possible disclosure to U. S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
• Young says Yahoo has a standard operating procedure for e-mail data mining spelled out in the Yahoo Law Enforcement Compliance Manual. Young has posted a copy of Yahoo's manual on his Cryptome.com website.
• Yahoo and its Washington, D.C.-based legal counsel, Steptoe and Johnson, have not responded to WND requests for comment.
• The manual says Yahoo records the IP address of any computer involved in a Yahoo e-mail exchange.
• "Every message sent by a Yahoo! mail user contains the originating IP address in the header," the Yahoo manual says. "That is, Yahoo! records the IP address of the computer that was used to send the email, and Yahoo! inserts that IP address in the header of the message.
• Accordingly, if law enforcement is seeking to determine the IP address from which a Yahoo! e-mail was sent, Yahoo! will have no additional information other than what is visible in the message itself."

  "The relevant line from the header will generally look like this: Received: from [65.207.97.120] by web41705.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Fri, 05 Sep 2003 07:30:05 PDT  
• "In this example, the IP address in brackets corresponds to the computer from which the message was sent," the manual states.

• Section V of the Yahoo compliance guide says:  

  "Yahoo! generally will accept service of court orders, search warrants, and criminal grand jury or administrative subpoenas for the production of documents by fax from government entities."

• Then there's this paragraph a few lines later in the same section:  

  "Yahoo! will ask law enforcement to certify that the prior or delayed notice provisions have been satisfied if contents are sought with legal process other than a Search Warrant."

• An intelligence analyst and private terrorism investigator who asked not to be named, believes this phrase is key in Yahoo's willingness to turn over e-mail contents to U.S. intelligence agencies.
• Young stands by his actions and what he has written about Yahoo's surveillance. He believes the public material may be a diversion for deeper surveillance.
• "What remains unclear is what are other arrangements between Yahoo and law enforcement and intelligence agencies that are not covered by publicly available material. It is more than probable that the publicly available material diverts attention from these other shenanigans," Young observes.
• He adds that other Internet providers are also involved in surveillance.
• "Yahoo is not alone in these customer transgressions, the deceptive practices are widespread among telecommunications and IP providers," Young asserts.
• A story on Mathaba.net states, "Cox Communications, SBC, Cingular, Nextel, GTE and other telecoms and Internet service providers," or ISPs, are involved in federally sanction data collection.
• Young also believes media haven't done a good job reporting the abuses.
• "There's an abysmal neglect of what the ISPs, OS (operating system) producers, network operators, data farmers and search engines are up to with customer data displayed on the computer screen."
• Yahoo's legal counsel, Steptoe and Johnson, has contacted Young, acknowledging the compliance guide's existence and how it facilitates Yahoo's participation in intelligence and law enforcement investigations.

• In a 2008 radio interview, Barack Obama said:
• " … the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties."
• I tell you, life isn't fair. Why hasn't the Supreme Court ever ventured into the matter of "redistributive wealth?"
• And what in the world were the Founding Fathers thinking about when they failed to broach the subject?
• In the same interview, Chairman Obama went on to say that the
• Constitution "[says] what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf, and that hasn't shifted … and one of the … tragedies of the civil rights movement was … because the civil rights movement became so court focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change."
• Those stupid Founding Fathers again. They didn't even think to put in the Constitution what the government must do on your behalf.
• Excuse me? Do on your behalf?
• And what a tragedy it was that the civil rights movement didn't put together the coalition of powers that could bring about "redistributive change."
• After all, the debate is over: We all know that redistribution of wealth is the only moral way to operate a country, right?
• Forget the fact that the Constitution never mentions the redistribution of anything
• America will go through a fundamental change in 2010 – guaranteed.
• Either it will be fundamentally transformed into a full-fledged socialist police state, then, ultimately, a communist police state, or those who still believe in freedom will do whatever it takes to overthrow the oligarchy that now rules over us.
• If the Republicans, after winning back the House and Senate – or even coming close – continue to act like a branch of the Demopublican Party and ignore the Constitution, it most likely will bring into existence a third party (How about the Tea Party?) that would be the first such animal of the modern era that would have a legitimate shot at of winning the presidency in 2012.
• But, as I have so often pointed out, the caveat is that the fascist president and Congress may very well find a Chavezian reason to declare a state of emergency and "postpone" the 2012 presidential election.
• Regardless of whether that emergency is a total collapse of the U.S. economy or a terrorist attack, don't be fooled.
• If it happens, it will be a planned event by those who are now in power.

• Via health care, cap and trade and other wildly unconstitutional measures, BHO and the criminal Congress will assure that the economy is many times worse off by next November's elections than it is now.
• The objective, of course, is to bring people to their knees so they will have "no other choice" but to look to benevolent government for help.
• I believe that 20-25 percent unemployment is coming, more massive bailouts of companies "too big to fail," higher taxes, government controlled health care, cap and trade
• and, yes, jail time for those who do not obey the unconstitutional edicts of the criminal class in Washington.
• I thought we'd have runaway inflation and a solidly entrenched police state by the mid '80s, but I underestimated the sheer power of Ronald Reagan's personality – not to mention the government's capacity to print fiat currency and borrow money.
• Could I be wrong? Sure.

• Having said this, the only way that a "fundamentally transformed America" can be avoided is if:  

  1. Free elections are held in 2010 

  2. Conservative Republicans sweep into power 

  3. Said conservative Republicans immediately began to repeal all unconstitutional legislation – including government involvement in health care, welfare, regulation of the environment, government involvement in education … and so on.  

  In short, get rid of all government functions other than providing a legal system for arbitrating disputes, protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing for a national defense.  

  4. While all this is going on, those of us who are on the moral high road should be prepared to spend enormous amounts of time and energy educating the anesthetized, sports-crazy, entertainment-crazy, vacation-crazy masses about the wonders of the free market. We must put forth the effort to explain to them why liberty is the most valuable commodity they can ever possess. We must help them understand that liberty, not government handouts, gives them the best opportunity to achieve economic freedom.
• It is not just another Carter era of sheer stupidity and incompetence. This is the real thing.
• The year 2010 will be like no other in American history.
• This is what progressives have been working toward since the days of Theodore Roosevelt.
• We are living through a major historical time that may very well shape the destiny of the human race for centuries to come – or bring about its final demise.

• Editor's note: This is another in a series of monthly "Freedom Index" polls conducted exclusively for WND by the public opinion research and media consulting company Wenzel Strategies.
• There's a new "chill" that has nothing to do with claims of global warming or climate change and
• everything to do with the failing confidence Americans feel in their own freedoms, according to a new poll.
• "More Americans this month felt that there was more of a climate of fear over their freedom of association – with more than one in three – 36 percent – saying that they believed Americans had reason to fear punishment or retribution based on who their friends were or who they met with. This is chilling stuff!" said Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies.
• The WND/Wenzel telephone survey was conducted Dec. 18-21 using an automated telephone technology calling a random sampling of listed telephone numbers.
• The survey included 26 questions and carries a 95 percent confidence interval. It included 823 likely voters. It carries a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.
• His survey revealed that the WorldNetDaily Freedom Index took a huge plunge in December, dropping to its lowest ever mark of 46.4 on a 100-point scale.
• The assessment is based on respondents' answers to a series of monthly questions about how they feel about a basketful of liberties they enjoy as Americans.
• The survey's initial result in June was 57.6, which fell to 53.2 in July. There followed a slight uptick with 54.2 in August and 56.4 in September, but October fell again, to 52.2 followed by a weak rally at 53.6 in November.
• Wenzel described the issues undermining Americans' confidence in their liberties as linked to Washington's moves toward President Obama's agenda.

• "When it comes to health care reform, December has turned out to be a very good month for President Barack Obama," he said. "But when it comes to public approval of his work, it has been a very bad month."  

   
• "There has been a dramatic negative move in the WorldNetDaily.com Freedom Index this month, dropping for othe first time below the dead-level-even mark of 50 on its 100-point scale. It now stands at 46.4, down from 53.6 just a month ago

• "This coincides with the commencement of the serious votes on the health care bill, which apparently imposes some harsh restrictions on virtually every aspect of the American health care system," he said.  

  "Clearly, people are spooked."  

• Nearly half of all respondents – 47 percent, confirmed there has been a decrease in freedoms under Obama's reign. That was up from 40 percent a month earlier.  

  "That's a big move," Wenzel said.  
• "In this survey, his approval is just 41 percent positive, down from 44 percent last month.
• "And, in this and other polls, Obama has seen his job approval rating plummet," he continued.
• He is slipping dangerously close to a point from which it will be very hard to recover."
• Wenzel reported among Republicans, 73 percent confirmed "a decrease in freedoms under Obama, up from 61 percent just one month ago."
• "And among political independents, the percentage who said the same thing increased by 7 percent this month over last," he said.
• Along with increased worries about the loss of American freedoms, "more Americans this month felt that there was more of a climate of fear over their freedom of association," he said.
• Thirty-six percent said they thought Americans has reason to be concerned about punishment based on their friends and acquaintances, he said.
• "An increase in the fear that Republicans said they personally feel when expressing their thoughts using a bumper sticker or campaign button was offset by a growing sense of freedoms felt by Democrats to do the same thing.
• This is a continuing trend of political polarization that we have seen in the WND Freedom Index over the past few months which has coincided with the increasing bitterness over sweeping Capitol Hill legislation," he said.
• The result may not be good news for the president.
• "This is the bottom line – coming on the heels of the Democratic Party election losses last month
• this polling data paints a drab picture for the Democrats heading into what is shaping up to be a critical congressional election year," Wenzel suggested.
• "The Democrats have so far pinned their legislative hopes on landmark victories on two key issues – health care reform and the so-called Cap and Trade environmental bill that passed the House last summer,
• but public sentiment on both of those issues has tilted strongly against the Democratic Party.
• But right now, it is hard to imagine a scenario – or an issue – where they [Democrats] could regain enough political momentum to hold their majorities in both houses less than 11 months from now," Wenzel said.
• "Politics is a lot like the weather – just wait a little while and it will change.
• Nearly one voter in five said Americans are "not at all free" to speak their minds without fear of punishment and another one in six said the country is "not very free."
• One in seven even have "great fear" that punishment or investigation could result from their choice of worship.
• More than three in 10 believe the government is using "scanners" and electronic records to create "great intrusion" into American lives.
• The means for the government to obtain such information also is an issue.
• Nearly 10 percent express "great fear" at even expressing their own opinions.
• About one in six said they were not very free or not at all free to even put a bumper sticker expressing their political or religious beliefs on their vehicles.
• One in five expressed the same reservations about discussing their beliefs if the conversation was in a public area.
• And more than one in four said they were not very or not at all free to express their opinions without fear of government penalty.
• The result was that more than 25 percent of Americans censor their own expressions because of the perceived threat.

• JERUSALEM – In her first major interview since becoming President Obama's newly appointed anti-Semitism czar last month, Hannah Rosenthal yesterday blasted the Israeli government for its criticism of a lobby group accused of anti-Israel activity.
• Rosenthal characterized as "most unfortunate" a decision by Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to the United States, to not attend the annual dinner in September of J Street, a lobby group that is mostly led by left-leaning Israelis and that receives funds from Arab and Muslim Americans.
• In an interview yesterday from Jerusalem with Israel's Haaretz newspaper, Rosenthal said Oren "would have learned a lot" if he had participated in J Street's conference
• Rosenthal was in Israel as the Obama administration's envoy to the Foreign Ministry's Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism.
• "I came away realizing what a generational divide there is and I don't know how it is in Israel. Young people want to be part of the discussion, they feel they have fresh ideas and they feel that we have to end the stalemate," she said, speaking of the J Street dinner.

• Rosenthal stated it was important that new and different voices need be heard regarding Israel in the American Jewish community.
• "It is not 1939," she said. "We have the state of Israel. We have laws in countries that are holding people accountable."
• Regarding a recent U.N. report accusing Israel of war crimes during the Jewish state's defensive war in Gaza last year, Rosenthal told Haaretz, "it is not anti-Semitic to look at a certain policy of Israel and say – I disagree with it. Half of the population in Israel isn't anti-Semitic by not agreeing with policies."
• That U.N. report has been blasted as one-sided and as relying largely on Hamas information and Palestinian witnesses.
• And I think that healthy democracies – and Israel is one – ha[ve] to do self reflection and the world looks at the light unto the nations and says I agree to this policy or I don't agree – that is not anti-Semitism."
• Continued Rosenthal: "I do believe that some of the criticism against Israel is anti-Semitism but not all of it is.
• Rosenthal serves on the board of J Street, which states on its website it seeks to "promote meaningful American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts peacefully and diplomatically."
• J Street supports talks with Hamas, a terrorist group whose charter seeks the destruction of Israel.
• The group opposes sanctions against Iran and is harshly critical of Israeli offensive anti-terror military actions.
• Reacting to Rosenthal's remarks yesterday, Jeffrey Goldberg at The Atlantic commented, "the Obama administration official charged with monitoring worldwide anti-Semitism makes her first target... the Israeli ambassador to the United States? I'll be taking bets now on how long Hannah Rosenthal lasts in the job."
• The Israeli government, meanwhile, has been distancing itself from J Street.
• When its ambassador, Oren, refused to attend the annual J Street dinner, Israeli embassy spokesman Yoni Peled told the Jerusalem Post his government has some "concern over certain [J Street] policies that could impair Israel's interests."
• The Powerline blog previously documented how far-leftist Israelis are influential in the J Street leadership, including former Knesset Speaker Avrum Burg, who generated controversy when he stated, "To define the state of Israel as a Jewish state is the key to its end."
• Another key J Street member, Mideast expert Henry Siegman, has compared Israel to apartheid South Africa.
• Rosenthal was anti-war activist
• WND recently reported Rosenthal was a 1960s anti-war activist and community organizer whose husband worked with the founder of a socialist party, of which, according to documentary evidence, Obama was a member.

• Hannah Rosenthal, a former Health Department regional director under the Clinton administration, started her position last month as the State Department's special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism.
• She previously headed the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella U.S. Jewish organization.
• Rosenthal was a community organizer who became involved in the anti-war and civil-rights movements in the 1960s.
• In Madison, with 1.5 percent unemployment, Phelps worked with University of Wisconsin professor and socialist activist Joel Rogers to create a pilot program through the blue-ribbon Economic Summit Council to train workers and match skills with jobs.
• Her husband, Richard Phelps, is an executive from Wisconsin.
• That same year, while running for a seat in the Illinois Senate as a Democrat, Obama actively sought and received the endorsement of the socialist New Party, according to confirmed reports during last year's presidential campaign. Rogers was founder of the New Party.
• The New Party worked alongside the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.
• The New Party's aim was to help elect politicians who espoused its policies.
• Among New Party members was linguist and radical activist Noam Chomsky.
• Obama's campaign last year denied the then-presidential candidate was ever an actual member of the New Party.
• But the New Zeal blog dug up print copies of the New Party News, the party's official newspaper, which show Obama posing with New Party leaders, listing him as a New Party member and printing quotes from him as a member.
• The party's spring 1996 newspaper boasted: "New Party members won three other primaries this Spring in Chicago: Barack Obama (State Senate), Michael Chandler (Democratic Party Committee) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)."
• The paper quoted Obama saying, "These victories prove that small-'d' democracy can work."
• The newspaper lists other politicians it endorsed who were not members but specifies Obama as a New Party member.
• New Ground, the newsletter of Chicago's Democratic Socialists of America, reported in its July/August 1996 edition that Obama attended a New Party membership meeting April 11, 1996, in which he expressed his gratitude for the group's support and "encouraged (New Party members) to join in his task forces on voter education and voter registration."

• A former top member of the New Party recounted in a WND e-mail interview Obama's participation with his organization.   

  "A subcommittee met with (Obama) to interview him to see if his stand on the living wage and similar reforms was the same as ours," recalled Marxist activist Carl Davidson.  

  "We determined that our views on these overlapped, and we could endorse his campaign in the Democratic Party," Davidson said.  
• Davidson was a Chicago member and activist within the New Party. He told WND he handled some of the New Party member databases and attended most of the party's meetings.
• Davidson is also a notorious far-left activist and former radical national leader in the anti-Vietnam movement. He served as national secretary for the infamous Students for a Democratic Society anti-war group, from which the Weatherman domestic terrorist organization later splintered.
• Davidson remembers Obama attending one New Party meeting to thank attendees for voting for him.
• Davidson said that to his knowledge Obama was not a member of the New Party "in any practical way" – using qualifying language.
• Candidates must be approved by the party's political committee and, once approved, must sign a contract mandating they will have a "visible and active relationship" with the party.
• Becoming a New Party member required some effort on behalf of the politician.
• Asked whether Obama signed the New Party contract, Davidson replied there was "no need for him to do so."
• "At the end of our session with him, we simply affirmed there was no need to do so, because on all the key points, the stand of his campaign and the New Party reform planks were practically the same," Davidson told WND.
• The socialist-oriented goals of the New Party were enumerated on its old website.
• Among the New Party's stated objectives were "full employment, a shorter work week and a guaranteed minimum income for all adults; a universal 'social wage' to include such basic benefits as health care, child care, vacation time and lifelong access to education and training; a systematic phase-in of comparable worth and like programs to ensure gender equity."
• The New Party stated it also sought "the democratization of our banking and financial system – including popular election of those charged with public stewardship of our banking system, worker-owner control over their pension assets [and] community-controlled alternative financial institutions."
• Many of the New Party's founding members were Democratic Socialists of America leaders and members of Committees of Correspondence, a breakaway of the Communist Party USA.
• The New Party, established in 1992, took advantage of what was known as electoral "fusion," which enabled candidates to run on two tickets simultaneously, attracting voters from both parties.
• But the New Party went defunct in 1998, one year after fusion was halted by the Supreme Court.
• ACORN, convicted in massive, nationwide voter-fraud cases, has been a point of controversy for Obama over the presidential candidate's ties to the group.
• According to DSA documents, the New Party worked with ACORN to promote its candidates.
• In 1995, the DSA's New Ground newsletter stated, "In Chicago, the New Party's biggest asset and biggest liability is ACORN.
• "On one hand, in Chicago, ACORN is a group that attempts to organize some of the most depressed communities in the city. Chicago organizers for ACORN and organizers for SEIU Local 880 have been given modest monthly recruitment quotas for new New Party members.
• "Like most organizations, ACORN is a mixed bag," the newsletter said.
• On the other hand, like most groups that depend on canvassing for fundraising, it's easy enough to find burned out and disgruntled former employees. And ACORN has not had the reputation for being interested in coalition politics – until recently and, happily, not just within the New Party."
• Aside from founding the New Party, Rogers also was co-founder of the Apollo Alliance, a group of U.S. business, labor, environmental, and community leaders which reportedly aided in the drafting of Obama's stimulus and cap and trade bills.

• Dr Sulman also undertook a study of "weather sensitive" volunteers and showed that, during the time of the Sharav winds, their bodies would produce up to ten times their normal level of serotonin - a hormone associated with stress. He found that, in effect, they were being poisoned by their own serotonin, causing migraines, hot flushes, irritability, pains around the heart, difficulty in breathing and a worsening of bronchial complaints, anxiety and irrational tension. Also a slowing of reactions was observed. Interestingly, it was discovered that in many people, the body's initial response to positive ions is to produce adrenaline and noradrenaline - the "fight or flight" hormones - which produces short-term euphoria but eventually leads to a condition of exhaustion. (It is this condition that is thought to affect insects and animals into restless activity as the positive ions build up before a storm.) The research also showed that exposure to positive ions can trigger an over-production of histamine, which most people will immediately recognise as the body chemical that aggravates allergies. Statistically it was found that 25% of the population are quite strongly affected by levels of ions in the air. Of the remainder, 50% are affected considerably, although 25% do not appear sensitive at all.
• A great deal of research was also carried out by Dr. Albert Krueger in California - One of his first discoveries was that a surprisingly small amount of negative ions could kill and take out of the air, the types of bacteria that cause colds, influenza and respiratory infections. He then went on to keep large groups of mice in various concentrations of ions, some positive, some negative and some in normal balance. In 1960 a scientific paper was published on the results. The conclusions were almost identical to those of Dr. Sulman. An excess of positive ions led to overproduction of serotonin which initially created hyperactivity, leading to exhaustion, anxiety and depression. He also found that an excess of negative ions appeared to have a calming effect, and a reducing of serotonin levels in the brain. (Negative ions were actually substituted for a pharmaceutical tranquiliser on one occasion - with identical results). The series of experiments were then extended to include rats, guinea pigs and rabbits as well as insects and plants. The results consistently supported the original findings. On one occasion, mice were kept in a sealed container until the oxygen was almost used up and they were on the verge of suffocation. The remaining air was negatively ionized - and the mice revived!

• Former   Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean said on December 8 that “cooperation”   between European socialists and the Democratic Party has “intensified   significantly” over the last several years and involves “regular   contact” at “Congress, Senate, party and foundation levels.”
• He added that “efforts have been remarkable from both sides.”
• But   at a “Global   Progress Conference” in October, President Barack Obama’s   pollster, Joel Benenson, acknowledged that socialized medicine in the   U.S. faces a serious obstacle.
• He said that while Europeans are receptive   to the expansion of government in their lives, in America there is an   anti-government culture which prevents people from “expecting the   State to solve their problems.”
• “This   explains why Obama will find it difficult to implement the social coverage   plans such as a broader health service,” Benenson   reportedly said.
• The   conference was held in Madrid, Spain under the patronage of Spain’s   socialist Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero,
• whose   pro-homosexual and pro-abortion policies have led to street   protests by thousands of supporters of traditional values.
• Zapatero   is also under fire for a jobless rate of nearly 18 percent.
• Dean’s   comments came in a   video address in which he joked that his failure to personally attend   the Party of European Socialists (PES) convention, which was advertised   as a “carbon neutral congress,” was actually a smart move   because he avoided flying and contributing to global warming. “We’ve   saved a lot of carbon,” Dean said.
• In his   comments, Dean called for a “long-term global vision” for   the transformation of the global economy and mentioned that disgraced   Democratic President Bill Clinton had previously spoken at a meeting of   the PES-sponsored Global Progressive Forum.
• The April   2-3 Global Progressive Forum also featured Robert Borosage of the   left-wing group that calls itself the Campaign for America’s Future.
• The   Global   Progressive Forum is also sponsored by the Socialist International,   whose U.S. affiliate, the Democratic Socialists of America, includes long-time   backers of Barack Obama.
• “Free-market   globalization alone cannot achieve social justice,” Dean told the   PES convention. “What the world needs is a global New Deal.”
• He defined   this as a “transition to a low-carbon economy” involving “a   major transformation in the patterns of production and consumption.”
• This will include “large-scale investments and mechanisms”   to share the costs and the policies, he said.
• His remarks came on the   eve of the United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen.
• Dean   never used the words “world government,” but did declare that   “We need a new institutional framework to govern, manage and monitor   implementation.”
• In order   to bring this about, the PES Congress issued a “Call   to Action” urging the imposition of a “global financial   transaction tax”
• that would generate hundreds of billions of dollars   and “provide funding for long-term public investments, to finance   global development and climate change.”
• As AIM   has disclosed, there is a   secret plan by left-wing non-governmental organizations to bring about   this global tax over the next several months.
• In another   PES document, “A   New Direction for Progressive Societies,” the group urged a   “progressive peace policy” that says “…we fully   support the initiative of the US administration in favor of global disarmament”
• and urges the “deepening [of] transatlantic cooperation with the   new US administration.”
• “It   is our profound conviction that we must secure a Global New Deal for a   new global order of social justice, equality, sustainable development   and democracy,” the document concludes.
• Howard   Dean’s involvement with the PES is actually an old story.

• In our   February 14, 2008, column,   “Obama’s International Socialist Connections,” we noted   that:

   

  “Another   group associated with the SI [Socialist International] is the Party of   European Socialists (PES), which heard from Howard Dean, the chairman   of the Democratic National Committee, back in 2006.

• The   Benenson Strategy Group has represented several foreign governments and   currently represents British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, a prominent   advocate of a global tax who is facing re-election in June 2010.

• We’re accustomed to strange political phenomena rising out of Minnesota.

   

  
• We can accept the occasional Jesse Ventura or Al Franken winning statewide office, because the state’s voters obviously like to be different.
• But we doubt even the most offbeat citizens of that state would approve of the new K-12 teacher education program that’s been proposed for the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus.
• While the rest of the nation is trying to force teachers to help our children reach their potential, the university’s College of Education and Human Development wants to make sure future teachers are more anti-American, so they can share that philosophy with their future students.
• We couldn’t even begin to make something like this up.
• According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, College of Education officials recently established the “Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group.”
• It’s charged with helping to devise a new system for training prospective K-12 teachers, because current teachers lack “cultural competence,” a factor officials believe contributes to the poor performance of minority students.
• The task force has issued its final report, which the group Foundation for Individual Rights in Education brought to light, and officials from the College of Education are expected to review its recommendations in January.
• That new teachers be immersed in a liberal political agenda that’s highly critical of American social norms, particularly the notion that all people can positively influence their own destiny through hard work and determination.
• What’s the task force’s main recommendation?
• The task force “recommended that aspiring teachers must repudiate the notion of the ‘American Dream’ and instead “must embrace  – and be prepared to teach our state’s kids – the task force’s own vision of America as an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic,” according to writer Katherine Kersten of the Star Tribune.
• “The report advocates making race, class and gender politics the ‘overarching framework’ for all teaching courses at the university,” Kersten wrote.
• “It calls for evaluating future teachers in both coursework and practice teaching, based on their willingness to fall into intellectual lockstep.”
• The task force recommends that prospective teachers begin by confessing their own bigotry.
• They would have to prepare a report “describing their own prejudices and stereotypes, questioning their ‘cultural motives’ for wishing to become teachers,
• and take a ‘cultural intelligence’ assessment designed to ferret out their latent racism, classism and other ‘isms,’” according to the newspaper.
• More than anything, “future teachers must. . . recognize and denounce the fundamental injustices at the heart of American society,” the article said.
• What about those prospective teachers who refuse to fall into “intellectual lockstep?” After all, there’s bound to be a stubborn conservative or two who think America’s a pretty decent place to live, work and raise a family.
• For them, the university “must develop clear steps and procedures. . . including a remediation plan,” the report said.

• We wonder if the university’s “remediation” program will prescribe years of hard labor, so the unenlightened will have plenty of time to ponder their foolishness.
• Silly us. The whole time we thought the problem was that our kids were falling behind in key subjects like science and math.
• We never understood that the key to quality education is to teach all youngsters to hate their country, and teach minority kids that society’s cards are impossibly stacked against them, so they might as well go sell crack.

• But back to reality. We think the proposed program at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is an unbelievable pile of dung,

• God help us if this is the prevailing attitude in schools of education across the land.
• Now that the good citizens of Minnesota are aware of this nonsense happening right under their noses, we trust they will kill it out before it’s put into practice.

But the folks who are in these failing schools, not learning basic skills (never mind not learning advanced skills) don't have the money for all those tutors and it's their kids who will suffer for it.
  
  These fruitcake policies seem designed to ensure there's a permanent underclass of under-educated, easily-victimized, entitlement-minded, Dem-voting stooges.

Amy "Epitome of the Left" Klobuchar, and Sen. Al "Obnoxious, Big-mouth, Liar, Blare America, Self-Important, I-Know-Better-Than-All-Of-You" Franken in office.
  
  The TC Metro liberals control the machine and the out state farmers (DFL - Democrat Farmer Labor party) have imbibed the kool-aid. They'd vote liberal if they were being led to the concentration camp by a Democrat. It's all about "me-me-me!" Gimme my welfare, gimme my non-profit grants, gimme my stadium, gimme my milk check, gimme my political power in return for the goodies.

• Award winning war correspondent Michael Yon was detained and handcuffed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Yesterday by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel.
• Yon was returning to the United States from Hong Kong to visit family when TSA officials stopped him during a routine security checkpoint.

•  “Officials asked me what was in my bag—nothing wrong with this question,” Yon said in an interview with BigGovernment.com.  “I told them it was normal stuff, clothes and toothbrushes.”

   

  
• At this point the TSA officials escorted Yon to a designated screening area where they examined the contents of his bag.
•  “Then they asked me how much money I make,” Yon said.
•  Yon suggested to the TSA officials that the question was inappropriate and unrelated to transportation security.
• The award-winning blogger noted another TSA officer approached Yon: “he asked who do I work for.”  ”I did not answer the question which clearly was upsetting to the TSA officers.”
• Yon was escorted to a room elsewhere in the airport where he said he remained silent during much of the questioning.
• According to Yon, “they handcuffed me for failing to cooperate.  They said I was impeding their ability to do their job.”
• “I always assume everything is being recorded.  I was trying to be professional.”
• Yon described the TSA officials as noticeably frustrated by his refusal to answer their questions:
• Yon continued, “They said I wasn’t under arrest, but I’m handcuffed.  In any other country, that qualifies as an arrest.”
• Ultimately Port Authority police released Yon; according to Yon, the police were “completely professional.”
• In January of 2009, Yon’s article “Border Bullies” detailed a Homeland Security officer coercing a friend to give up her e-mail password so that he could read private email correspondences between her and Yon.
• “If I am the guy on that passport and I don’t have any contraband in my luggage, it is a matter for the FBI, not the TSA.”
• Regarding the incident in Seattle, Yon was adamant the TSA agents had overstepped their bounds:
• “TSA people are out of control,” he said. “They are not doing their jobs, they are harassing people, creating animosity.

• Obama has issued another executive order, this time establishing a so-called “Council of Governors.”
• The order, signed on January 11, further diminishes the sovereignty of the states and builds on a framework for possible martial law.
• The executive order was completely ignored by the corporate media.

• The Council shall meet at the call of the Secretary of Defense or the Co-Chairs of the Council to exchange views, information, or advice with the Secretary of Defense; the Secretary of Homeland Security; the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism; the Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement; the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas’ Security Affairs; the Commander, United States Northern Command; the Chief, National Guard Bureau; the Commandant of the Coast Guard; and other appropriate officials of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, and appropriate officials of other executive departments or agencies as may be designated by the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of Homeland Security.
• In other words, the Pentagon and Homeland Security will give hand-picked governors their marching orders under the guise of “synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States,”
• a direct violation of Posse Comitatus.

  Yup – It is Obama’s intention to make “our” military, “his” military. If martial law comes about, Obama should be wary of a military coup – fascism isn’t very popular amongst the military community and they would lock Field Marshall Obama and his posse up post haste. The Constitution assures that our military is never used against it’s own people, until now ?

  If we can trust what you say, It IS time. Without OUR military heros we cannot hope to preserve freedom. The military MUST be able to recognize who is the REAL enemy for a revolution constitutional reestablishment and reformation to succeed.

  You bungholes in the military WILL do nothing but FOLLOW orders. You will find juicy women to enjoy and kill people with chain guns if they are outside at 9:01 pm when curfew expires at 9:00 pm. Out of all the military, maybe 1 or 2 soldiers goes to cour martial and refuses to go to Iraq of Afghanistan.

  Most of the guys I talked to (inc. Marines, A/F) are not “re-upping” and are hip to NWO operations and the tyranny behind it. In fact, my future son in law loved the Joker Tee I got him for Xmas. They came to the realization that there is no mission out there.

  MOST of our military men and women don’t even KNOW THE US CONSTITUTION so they wouldn’t know a violation if one bit them in the arse.

• I totally respect our military men and women but my former brother in law was a tank driver and he wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. He said that the military was polled and asked if they would bring arms against the American people if ordered to and a vast majority said YES.

   

  Our hope is in Christ Jesus, not men nor women. Keep looking UP.

  You are right. There are too many bullet heads in the Armed Forces and too many bullet heads here in the good ole U.S of A. that think they need armed troops to save them from Obama.
   It’s not Obama or Bush or Clinton. It is the lizard scum that owns them and us. The President, Congress, the Courts – you name it – are just tools used by these scum. The only thing that will “save” us is us.

  Hey Truth and Love. What was it that you did not like about the 8 years of when Bush & Cheney were holding office ? The reason I ask this of you is because I have sen many card-carrying democrats over those 8 years and were very specific in their debates of all the corruption. Yet, it now seems that all those people carrying signs in protest of Bush/Cheney have left those signs layin in the streets to kiss the feet of what basically amounts to the same agenda. Are you people that selfish? That you can let ‘wars’ continue because you think something is in it for you; that all your personal needs will be met?

   

  That is the reason you voted for Obama right?…that he was gonna change foreign policy / bring about jobs / deal with Gitmo, Iraq, Iran. Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan…all in a more ‘truthful and loving’ way right ?

   

  And no…Im not a repulblican. Its all a sham because the ‘real deals’ take place behind closed doors in the US or behind closed doors in other countries. We are not privy to those.
