In Maharashtra, there are around 476 schools for the disabled children in which around 32,999 students suffering from physical and mental disability study. But, the educational as well as the basic facilities provided in such special schools is not at par with those provided in private and general schools for normal students.
      • Since the government and people in Mumbai are not well aware of people with physical/mental disabilities, the curiculum and methods/teaching patterns are not as well as they should be. This should be improved, considering that there are 476 special school and 2000 teachers teacthing at these schools. The facilities are not as up to date as thsose in private/public schools for "normal" students.
