    Web 2.0 resources are amazing, I love the potential for connecting students and teachers in a new way. edu 2.0 is an incredible free tool that allows teachers and students to connect and interact outside of the traditional classroom. This is, in essence, a virtual classroom. How to integrate edu 2.0 into the classroom: edu 2.0 allows teachers to add a new dimension to teaching. Post private classes online, upload daily lessons, keep a student roster, student attendance, a calendar, assignments, grade book, graph scores, start a class forum, chat, wiki, polls, and feeds, create surveys and quizzes that can be completed online. This is a great way to extend teaching, teach students how to use web 2.0 tools, offer tutoring and out-side of school teaching, and offering courses to home school students or small schools who may not have the

    Dweeber is a social networking site for students that encourages kids to get their homework done faster and with more understanding by working with their school friends online. Dweeber was created to help students understand their strengths and talents, and help them work together more effectively with parents, mentors, and each other. The goal is to get students working together to help them learn, study and do research. Working together collaboratively this way is an important 21st century skill that we should be fostering in our classrooms. Students can invite each other to study sessions where they can work in a collaborative whiteboard type space, chat with fellow students, post successes, and send friends thank you cards for helping out. Students can learn about their unique learning style and will receive tips for working more effectively (SMART profile) these profiles can be shared among friends. Students can also earn ‘guru’ points by sharing and voting on favorite websites, helping others get homework done, and pointing out successes of other students.

    Wizlite is a handy little web tool that lets you highlight text (just like you would on paper) on any page on the Internet and then share it with others. Wizlite uses a a Firefox extension or a bookmarklet to show and store selections. It is free and easy to use! Wizlite is a handy tool for directing your students to specific information while they are learning on the web. Use Wizlite to teach your students to find the main idea on a webpage. Students can create groups on Wizlite and share pages with their highlights with other students. Wizlite is also very useful for sharing portions of webpages with your colleagues quickly and easily. Tips: Wizlite does require you to install an extension. This is easy to do and the Wizlite site walks you through the steps.
