• Busá was listed with a PhD degree as a special advisor to Rutherford University México.^[55] He is listed as the recipient of a 2007 PhD degree in Political Science from the International University of Fundamental Studies,^[56] which also claims its accreditation from the IPSP.^[57] The International University of Fundamental Studies was apparently associated with the diploma mill Saint Regis University.^[58]

• IUFS is also unaccredited. Here it is: International University of Fundamental Studies - The University of World Nations It has no degree-granting authority I know of, other than a business license that allows it to operate a school in St. Petersburg. Said license was suspended at one time, but they somehow got it back. The head of the place is said to have first earned his academic stripes by teaching "rocket science" (sic) classes in his South Asian village. "Degrees" from IUFS are not officially recognized in any country, as far as I know.

• The web sites of some of the distance learning programs which are not accredited by CHEA-recognized organizations show similarities which suggest that they may be related. Some are products (or clones) of University Degree Program (UDP) sites, while some may be related through a parent organization which called itself "University Consulting, Inc." (UCI) for a time.

• The "registrar" explained that Stafford is "not a traditional university and doesn't pretend to be." They're giving people an "honorary diploma" and not a degree: they are "trying to complement a person's career" so "it's not a degree in that sense

• Many of the establishments also use the Ascension Island web domain “.ac”, which resembles the regulated “.ac.uk” domain.

• Similarly there is a perfectly genuine Staffordshire Unversity and a fake Stafford University, the problem being compounded by people from the real University sometimes calling it Stafford rather than Staffordshire.

• The Oxford Educational Network (OEN) is a network of universities, colleges and schools that share a common heritage of independence,  theological foundation, and  priorities beyond secular and public educational strategies.

• A cursory look shows that the Oxford Educational Network does not appear to be an authentic accrediting body. Pony up that $2500 and you're a member. Pay $1000 per annum and you can stay a member.

• The website also claimed that the IIU’s educational programmes were accredited and quality controlled by the impressive sounding QAC-UK Ltd - the Quality Assurance Commission, based in North London.

• The QAC website listed an impressive roll call of staff including the QAC Commissioner General and an Acting Commissioner General.

  Our reporter visited the QAC and instead of finding a commissioner general we found four telephonists fielding calls for countless companies at yet another virtual office.

  A further check at Companies House revealed that far from the being “independent” the QAC is in fact owned by university boss Professor Dr Sandhu.

• Ignorance is what the university thrives on. It has gone so far as to create its own "validation" body, called the Quality Assurance Commission UK Limited, which constitutes nothing more than a sparse website and a mailbox in north London.

• DALC collaborates with two institutions in the UK — Cambridge Association of Managers and Oxford Association of Management — which run two separate colleges offering management courses but which have no working relationship with either Cambridge or Oxford Universities.
  
  The colleges are accredited by Quality Assurance Commission Limited owned by a Malaysian businessman and which is not recognised by UK education authorities. "There are two accreditation bodies in the UK and QAC is not one of them," Mr David Higgs, the head of British Council in Kenya told The Business Daily. Accreditation bodies in the UK fall under two categories, public and private.
