This definition by Van der Wende limits internationalization's reach. It seems that Knight's definition doesn't specifically attach the definition to any one kind of institution and therefore is more widely applicable.  -- 2011-10-09

• • Words chosen to reflect the breadth of internationalization: International (between and among nations), intercultural (to address cultural diversity within one country), and global (to provide the worldwide scope).
