Summer Tritt's List: Maps & Data Visualization

Worldmapper is a collection of world maps, where territories are re-sized on each map according to the subject of interest. There are now nearly 700 maps.

This site features digital copies of 113 antique maps of Africa and accompanying text dating from the mid 16th Century to the early 20th Century. Map area coverage includes the continent, regions (particularly North Africa and Algeria ), islands (particularly Madagascar ), and a few city plans. All of these maps are loose items, though many have been excised from published atlases.

Voting America examines the evolution of presidential politics in the United States across the span of American history. The project offers a wide spectrum of cinematic and interactive visualization of how Americans voted in presidential elections at the county level over the past 164 years. You can also find expert analysis and commentary videos that discuss some of the most interesting and significant trends in American political history.

The Mapping Globalization website is intended for everyone interested in globalization. The main goal of the website is to make empirical work on globalization as widely accessible as possible. The website offers an expanding set of resources for students, instructors, and researchers, and provides a forum for empirical research on globalization. We are especially interested in raw data and in the visualization of such data, including maps and animations.

Social Explorer is a premier U.S. demographics website. Our online tools help you visually analyze and understand the demography of the United States through the use of interactive maps and data reports. Our primary product is a web-based application that creates fast, intuitive, and visually appealing maps and reports. Our software gives anyone with an Internet connection access to census data that was previously the domain of social science experts.
