The Kojo environment. I really would love to check this out one of these days...
Kojo is a desktop based software-application that runs on Windows, Linux, and the Mac. It enables kids (and curious adults!) to:
Scala exam. Sure you want that Scala job, but do you have the chops?
This exam tests the developers Scala knowledge. More advanced parts of the language are covered in the intermediate exam.
You should understand that Scala is a pure object-oriented language in the sense that everything is an object, including numbers or functions. It differs from Java in that respect, since Java distinguishes primitive types (such as boolean and int) from reference types, and does not enable one to manipulate functions as values.
Some good presentations on scalaz and scala implicits
Interesting article. Sounds like it would be easy to get up and going with this in a short amount of time.

Sudoku Generator written in Scala. Will roll it into my Android app today
Details how to cross build using SBT. This is really great information, as I've been meaning to look into this aspect of the tool.
Sbt’s cross building feature makes it stupid simple to add another supported Scala version to your project by cracking open your project/build.properties
file and appending a new one.
build.scala.versions=2.7.3 2.7.4 2.7.5 2.7.6 2.7.7 2.8.0.Beta1
If that wasn’t easy enough, try compiling your project across all noted versions by executing the compile action with a +
.
+compile
Interesting blog post on types in Scala ...
Very interesting article about some rather obscure areas of the language.
Videos from Scala Days 2010
Cool blog posting about the Play framework, which is working very hard at the moment to incorporate Scala support. As a long time user of Wicket, I thought the author's comments were especially germane to my consideration of whether to use Play or not.,
Some very interesting observations about the use of Scala for the Play web framework by the person that created the module to support it. One of the most revealing quotes:
' Scala ... Applied to play it is the ideal use case'
