Bringing iPods into the classroom is a great way to give students access to learning tools. However, there are so many things to keep in mind to make the iPods work smoothly in the classroom. While my list of dos and don'ts is for iPod touch, much of the same advice can be given for using iPod classic and nano in classrooms. The list is for large or small class sets of iPods; if students are using their own personal iPods you'll have a different set of considerations and technical issues to deal with.

f you use iPod Touches in your classroom and students have access to either an iPod Touch or an iPhone, here are some "Apps" that we have on the AUHSD iPod Touches that can help with continuity of learning. iTunes required to access the links.
Use the "Sort" link to find Apps by discipline. Items labeled "z-Possible" are possibilities to add to the iPod Touch library once they are evaluated by teachers. -

Gage, Oklahoma Schools roll out iPod Touches for Grades 3-12
Jenah Kastelic’s article this past Friday for the Woodward News, “iSurprise: Area school hands out iPods,” tells the story of Gage Public Schools rolling out iPod Touches for all teachers and students in grades 3-12. Gage is a small community of several hundred people in extreme western Oklahoma. -
