This is why I feared Tim, the guy is a numbers guy. He will deal well with stuff like patents and not waste money like Steve would because steve really loved his products. He felt that they were his and so any flagrant copy would be fought.
In prices:
Steve probably coulnd care less about how much money he was making in each device. He priced them high because he believed they were worth 2 or 3 times more than any HP. With Tim, we might get a really cheap iPad mini to infiltrate the market well.
But then the bad side:
Tim knows quality and cares about products, but he is driven by numbers and these are the results.
I hope I'm wrong, but all is pointing that way.
The bloke who does the os X demos

Legal Fights
Interesting to see that out of those, the only relevant phone is the S2. Everything else is just old. I do think this is probably it for big cases like this. 2 reasons: Tim and innovation
you brought that upon yourselves
Maybe this has something to do with USA legal system
The type of phones we see today are not copying iDevices. Without Steve, I see this as being the future. It's not good financially, its not good for public perception.
Gossip Land
I still don't know. But unfortunately, NFC does not harmonise with Apple's philosophy. Apple doesnt add features or hardware just because, they added when they see a real usage value for it.
With a recent image and patents pointing to NFC in that exact place, people started to speculate that NFC would be in the iPhone 5
This would solve a cabling problem if a company wanted to release a speaker system for iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s compatible. Apple could even create a little receiver to put in old systems. Would get rid of wifi interference.
I thinks all these reports are only talking about the tip of the iceberg. I think this new technology that Apple will introduce, maybe something to do with bt 4.0 will allow for many more things: file sharing between advices and macs.
