    • At first you might think this makes sense because, apart from the iPhone, every other product that Apple sells is known simply by it’s name
    • This would mean developers now had to engineer apps for 3 different formats. Another problem, I find, is this: where would this thing fit in the product line? Education? iPod touch big brother? A simple consumption device? None of these make perfect sense to me.
    • immediately after launch that their orders have been delayed by several days
    • initially quoted delivery for March 16 and another had been quoted a shipping window of March 16-19, Apple has now pushed back delivery for these customers to March 20 or 21.

    ⁃ old maps - April 2010
⁃ maybe because they don't want to pay google, I would guess they have an agreement on iOS only
    ⁃ steping away

What a nice looking App. This for me is another one of those apps that Apple creates to show developers how it's done, setting the bar.
Another step into moving people away from the couplex pro desktop computers. My worry is that you cannot have access to all your photos, not through memory or iCloud.
Also, why is it not free being part of iLife? I suppose you don't pay for OS updates like on the mac.

    • Apple has added a new category in the App Store. The new category is called "Catalogs" and seems to be not yet fully deployed.
    • Several existing apps have already been placed into the Catalogs category, including Catalog Spree (pictured above), SkyMall, MTG Merchant and more.
    • Apple has released a new Mac app named Configurator for managing groups of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices for schools, businesses or other institutions.
      • Shows us that Apple wasn't quite sure what to do at the time. They ended up not following Google but doing an app centric cloud.

      • iCloud with iWork and Mountain Lion will make this worthless anyway. You can actually see things getting changed, much like with Google Docs

    • The service was launched in early 2009 in concert with iWork ’09
    • the carrier took more than 200,000 preorders for the iPhone 4S, according to MIC Gadget.
