It makes sense to fuse both together, after all, they sold more iOS devices in 2011 than Macs since 1974
Like on iOS, you will be asked to set up an account when you first turn your mac on. This is by far the biggest deal with 10.8. Now there are two ways of saving files on apps: on the drive or on iCloud. Every app will have it's own "App Library". This is good! Still wondering how exactly this will work when you want to send files to other supporting apps.
With allowing notification center as well as iCloud to be supported only for Mac App Store apps, Apple is forcing more and more developers this way.
It makes sense to do this as more and more normal people buy a mac.
As long as they don't close the door completely for power users that know what they're doing, I'm ok.
3 options! 1-macappstore only; 2- macappstore and signed apps; 3- everything.
middle is default. Great security feature, but you gotta think it's a subtle way of moving OS X to MacAppStore only apps.
What a contrast to Microsoft who comes out with a developer preview, does not explain what goes on exactly, what languages developers would write in, if desktop will be or not on tablets, probably because they themselves were not sure.
drop bits of information tiny bit by tiny bit.
Putting old windows on tablets just to run 3/4 apps.
What a contrast to Apple: here you have it, will be out in 6 months.
The presentation was the same as if for 1000 people.
I guess if they had booked a hall and invited people a week before, maybe there would be disappointment, because we expect the world of Apple every time.
something I'm never gonna use.
Even though Apple is gaining speed on games. I still think this social aspect of gaming should be left to those who are platform agnostic and experts in social. If you have a friend that plays angry birds on a android, this is broken.
A bit buggy, but not too bad. It's crazy to think Apple had a chat client that supports many services and not their own.
So rumours say Lion will not get Messages.
that happens when you interact with an Ad, supposedly clicking on it.
I find this ethically wrong.
If Apple thinks Asus is copying them and has a case for it, then they should take the correct avenues to fight the product. But here they are blackmailing the middle man.
It's like asking the printer to stop printing a competing news paper because you think they are guilty of plagiarism.
Boy Apple is quick to answer these things. You bet this has Apple all over it.
Makes no sense to me.
It would mean a considerable drop down in size, but the cost of the screen would still be high given the res.
If they change the resolution, it would create fragmentation.
if they want a cheaper option, just keep the iPad 1 there.
This would make sense with the iPad now exceeding 720p and even 1080.
Apple TV is in a market that’s very small. Today. Apple TV did grow in the quarter we just finished by 35% in a unit basis year-over-year.
4:17 No interest in going into the TV market. But still think there’s something there. So we continue to invest in this as a hobby.
4:18 iMac is very key, will continue to be very key.
two points: don't think the Mac is dead. For all those that think OS X is dead...not a chance.
Apple TV...maybe is a long way away.
due to a lawsuit resolved in their favour in China, authorities there started to confiscate iPad stock from Apple stores. Proview is also seeking more than £1B in damages.
Proview defends that the trademark for “iPad” was held by them, much before Apple came along
