Digital Literacy
The ability to use the Internet and a wide variety of digital tools to find, interpret, learn from, share and create multiple forms of digital media.

The University Library of The University of Illinois defines digital literacy as:
The ability to use digital technology, communication tools or networks to locate, evaluate, use and create information. 1

A person’s ability to perform tasks effectively in a digital environment… Literacy includes the ability to read and interpret media, to reproduce data and images through digital manipulation, and to evaluate and apply new knowledge gained from digital environments.
Digital Citizenship
Using technology and the Internet in a responsible manner by applying the same social norms and behaviors of the real world to the Internet and also maintaining an online reputation by practicing digital etiquette and appropriate use of technology.
Digital Identity
The persona of an individual on the Internet based upon their reputation and behaviors such as screen-names and posts to social networks; This is largely influenced by what information is shared or not shared by the Individual, A person's Digital Identity can have a major impact on their real-world lives, as extreme as losing a job, depending on their behavior.

The concept of keeping personal or sensitive information safe on the Internet by using a variety of security measures to make it difficult for sensitive data to be compromised and knowing what to do if this information has been or is at risk of being compromised
Critical Thinking
Using one's own knowledge to analyze and evaluate a situation or issue and find a logical and practical solution. Requires strict mental discipline and takes a lifetime to perfect.

Use of shared media and communication technology to create new media or alter existing media across a wide variety of platforms for a variety of purposes. This new media is created by end-users and "consumers" rather than the media industry or media professionals.

The protection and non-disclosure of personal information stored on the Internet, ranging from e-mail accounts and IP addresses to browsing habits and personal interests.
