His family and coaches joined Riser Feb. 4, National Signing Day, as he made his formal commitment to the University of Houston. “I’ll be watching the Bears on Friday and the Cougars on Saturday,” said Riser’s father, Greg Jendrusch, with a smile. Although he was actively recruited by such schools as the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, and Arizona, Riser chose the University of Houston because he felt it was a better fit. “It seemed like a better fit for me, and I feel like I will get more playing time,” Riser said.
