A terrific tool. It defines a call to action and the recommendations are simple and straightforward.
This is a terrific summary and analysis of the recent Pew report on Twitter demographics. Written by Mandy Jenkins of TBD.com and ZombieJournalism (http://zombiejournalism.com/), it is also useful for nonprofits.
by Tressa Robbins\n\n"As traditional media continue to downsize and the boundaries between social and traditional media continue to blur, communications professionals are increasingly turning to blogs for exposure. For those that are in PR or marketing and pitch the media on a regular basis, this may come as no surprise; however, I've read, seen and heard more than a few bad pieces of advice recently, regarding pitching bloggers. Summary/Abstract:
The Power of Storytelling
Organizations are doing remarkable work improving the lives of children. Yet too often we only hear about the continued problems. More bad news simply won't get people to care and act. People want to support programs that work. To motivate action for children, we must first share the amazing results that are already benefiting kids. Child Advocacy 360's groundbreaking national research provides quantitative proof that organizations telling stories focused on success can gain greater community and legislative backing for children's programs.

In English, Spanish and French.
The perspective is international yet this is a good resource for DC advocates to think about advocates' role in the DC budget.
