I need to look into the pros and cons a little more fully, but I think this may offer the options we need to make my school's lap top program workable.
I would love to have our students creating videos to share what they have learned about different curriculum topics. This looks like an easy way for them to dive in..
My older elementary students have a blog for sharing poetry and book reviews. The director would not let them have their own accounts, so they posted through my user name. I used EduBlogs to set it up.
This is the wiki that I set up as the library's website. So far the kids have not created any content, but next year, the fifth and sixth graders will be creating "pathfinders" on this wiki. I embedded a glog as the home page. I am still tweeking the links.
I am thinking of using this to have our students keep track of their reading and log book reviews. It looks much more fun than writing a blog entry.
I am very interested in this concept. I think it would be a fun way to get feedback or maybe to celebrate milestones. I need to dig a little farther to see what the privacy issues might be.
This looks like a fun way to get feedback about the library, or to build community on the library website. It is more responsive than a standard multiple choice survey.
This could be another fun tool for students to show what they have learned about a curriculum topic. It is a very non-threatening way to practice verbal communication skills and public speaking. It would help them critique themselves.
This could be a useful platform for teachers to communicate and keep track of assignments.
This looks a bit simpler than Edublogs and may be more appropriate if I really want to get the kids involved in actual blog creation.
