    • Back@U isn’t a simulation. “Players” solve real-world problems (social, scientific, interdisciplinary – Real problems have no boundaries) within communities invested in those problems. Players as judges provide the human computing necessary for rich and informative feedback leading to improvement.

      • MTA student leaders initially identified local allies (MLTI leaders, tech staff, ...). Mr. Ottow helped them understand that MTA faculty were also potential allies.

    The MSAD75 School Board accepted Maine Dept. of Ed. offer to expand the MLTI program from grades 7-8 to 7-12. Adding over 900 daily users to the existing network strained capacity. Mt Ararat HS student leaders attending the annual MYAN Peer Leadership Conf. decided that they wanted to help solve this authentic issue.

    • At the MYAN Peer Leadership Conference we made an action plan that would improve the school use of laptops. We plan on doing a research project: investigating common mis-used programs and web sites. 

      • MYAN's message of empowering student leaders helped them create a plan, and present it to a review panel.

    • the National Center for Research in Advanced Information and Digital Technologies, finally has Congressional appropriation through the Education Department and will be introduced Monday. It could be handing out grants by fall.
