Sally Ann Chisholm's List: perennials for shade

• • how do we know how many inches from a standard sprinkling system?
• The first tip is to understand that while some  plants survive in dry shade, few  if any plants really thrive in  these conditions.
  
• Generally speaking, I find I have to apply at least one and a half  inches of water a week to keep the shady perennial garden  looking good. In a dry year, I'll go to two inches.
