Second, Covisint wants to streamline procurement for the auto companies by setting up market mechanisms such as auctions. Third, Covisint wants to streamline the operations of the auto industry’s supply chains. As networks of buyers and suppliers interact in virtual space, the exchange’s founders hope that that the auto industry’s work processes will become more efficient and customer-friendly.
