This is a Web 2.0 application where you can design, use and share flashcards in any language. There are a few practices games/quizzes that can be played with any deck of flashcards.
This nifty site allows people to custom build or share flashcard decks. Double check application costs.
This site would be terrific for High School FSL - kids could design their own greeting cards and have fun sending them. The entire site is in French so it would be great for authentic language use.
This site was created by the New York City Zoo. Students select from different animal body parts to create a new animal self. They can print the page or email it. The page is in English, but it could be used in FSL to describe the new person in detail. Once students print own their picture, they could write a description: J'ai les oreilles d'un éléphant, les bras d'une grenouille et les jambes d'une crabe. Je m'appelle Grenélécrabe.
A virtual 3D world where participants encounter real life settings and have to use their French in banks, cafés and at the train station, etc. There are challenges, team-play, friedns and scoring. An interesting virtual experience for French and Spanish language learners.

This is a very simple interface in French to guide people to create and send postcards by email. The illustrations are child friendly, including a choice of fun signature styles. Kids will love this!
Zooburst is a new application that allows students to create their own 3D pop-up books. Students can write the text at the bottom of the page. They can also record their voice and the audio will play when you click on a speech bubble. What better way to get students using their French? A special 3D features kicks in when there is an active webcam and at the click of a mouse, the story can be rotated.
The Government of Quebec has created a series of French exercises at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There is an entry test and then students access exercises at an appropriate level. The sample I tried included an audio track and questions.
This site is a visual dictionary (arranged by themes: fruits, clothing, pets, plants, housing, school, etc) - when you scroll over each image, a French voice says the word. A wonderful resource for teachers who are not fully proficient and an opportunity to provide a different French language model for students. Ideal for elementary grades.
