      • SCORM is composed of three sub-specifications

        • The Content Packaging section specifies how content should be packaged and described. It is based primarily on XML.
        •
        • The Run-Time section specifies how content should be launched and how it communicates with the LMS. It is based primarily on ECMAScript (JavaScript).
        •
        • The Sequencing section specifies how the learner can navigate between parts of the course (SCOs). It is defined by a set of rules and attributes written in XML.
      • The Run-Time Environment specifies how content should behave once it has been launched by the LMS. Communication between the content and the LMS is handled by ECMAScript (JavaScript) in a web browser.
      •
      • The Content Aggregation Model specifies how you should package your content so that it can be imported into an LMS. This involves creating XML files that an LMS can read and learn everything it needs to know about your content
      •
      • The Sequencing and Navigation specification allows you to define rules that the LMS will use to control the learner’s navigation between sections of your content.
    • Basically there are 2 parts SCORM Version 1.2: the Run-Time Environment and the Content Aggregation Model.  The Run-Time Environment specifies how content should behave once it has been launched by the LMS. The Content Aggregation Model specifies how you should package your content so that it can be imported into an LMS. This involves creating XML files that an LMS can read and learn everything it needs to know about your content.
