The Office of Early Care and Education (OECE) funds five child development specialists in various regions across the state to assist child care centers and family home providers achieve accreditation. The specialists provide technical assistance, including support through the application process, on-site observation, and staff training. In addition, the OECE provides funding to cover the cost of accreditation materials and fees, quality improvement grants, and a one-time accreditation bonus.

The Building Blocks Child Care Mentor Program is a personal mentoring program designed to help new child care providers learn the ins and outs of the child care business. Trained family child care providers serve as mentors to new family child care providers; offering them information, encouragement and resources.
