This website allows you to generate different types of graphs to represent data. The graph types are: bar, line, area, pie and XY. Therefore this site is applicable to the Data outcomes DS2.1 and DS3.1 (BOS NSW, 2006, p 21).

In this reading the thinking process of students was dominated by past experiences and associated beliefs. This thinking process reflects subjective probability: A person projecting personal bias on an anticipated event (Truran, 1994 as cited in Barnes, 1998) Barnes (1998) implies that younger primary school students ideas about probability are mainly subjective in nature. Therefore it is interesting to note the age (8-13 years old) of these students in this particular research.
A subjective take on probability can lead to a poor understanding of mathematics and more significantly, poor understanding of the students' world. Another implication associated with poor development of probability concepts is gambler's fallacy, a subjective form of probability (Taylor, 2005).
Barnes (1998) suggests a variety of activities to assess the probability concepts held by your own students. In doing these activities students develop more appropriate probability concepts and acquire evidence for these concepts.
