• W leg of the Red Track
• Towering cliffs of different colours (see pic 2), great vegetation and easy   walking - until you reach the beginning of the blockup. Here we were greeted   by gigantic blocks of white limestone and other compositions blocking the   canyon. It was over, under, around, hopping and crawling down the blockup.   Our earlier experience held us in good stead. But finally we were through   and out into the more normal environment of Bungonia Creek - river rocks,   sand and Casuarinas.
• White Track on the crest down to the creek/river confluence. A   delightful spot with fine camping areas nearby.

  Attraction - Natural Attractions Bungonia State Recreation Area is the largest recreation area in NSW. The area has hilly ridges of the dry sclerophyll forests, flora and fauna and deep limestone caverns. The gorge at Bungonia Creek is the most spectacular feature - it is the deepest in Australia and among the most dramatic in the world. Please note that Spring Creek Canyon and the caves in the adjacent property 'Carne' are closed indefinitely. Entry to these caves is
• Bush camping is permitted in the Shoalhaven River area after advising the Park Ranger. Campers are reminded to bring their own water.

• Bungonia is located a few hours south-west of Sydney, not far from Goulburn.    The area is dominated by a huge limestone gorge, which is lined with cliffs    over 300 metres high. There are heaps of things to do. The area is littered    with caves, from easy, open caves with metal ladders, to claustrophobic, tight    caves for the more adventurous. Not far from camp is a swimming hole, complete    with rock jump and above-water bouldering. There a several great walks, perhaps    the best one passing over a boulder choke and through Bungonia Gorge, with the    cliffs towering above. The Shoalhaven River has some great liloing, and there    are several tricky canyons in the region as well.

• Starlights trail (from near Hilltop) down to McArthurs Flat on the Nattai River is quite spectacular and wouldn't be to hard for youngsters. Could be a nice easy overnighter. (Not too far from Goulburn)
  Spectacular clifflines. Not too much height involved. There is an old campstove ???? on wheels to be explored.
• Yet to camp there but there's a great site by the river as soon as you hit the bottom. We've often waded the Shoalhaven R. near there and walked to "the chimneys" (old copper mine ruins) nearby.
