This site allows you to search for photos on flickr and directs you to an embed code for your chosen picture which can then be pasted into the HTML section of your post (on Edublogs accounts). This is an easy to use tool which will help children get into good practise in terms of using other peoples images and avoiding copyright infringement.
Great video on using Wikis and Diigo in the classroom. Although this is based on a 9th grade class, I can see how you could use this (particularly the highlight and comment function of Diigo) for e.g. analysing a text for it's features and from this co-constructing a success criteria (as one example).
This is great for either using as a hook in for teaching and this site (as opposed to YouTube) is often unblocked in primary schools. The other advantage is that you can create your own account and post your own videos on there. These can then be embedded into your own class blog.
A great tool that can be embedded into a class blog. It allows pupils/wider audiences to post questions/musings on a given topic.
Edu Glogster is a presentation tool which allows students to create posters about any given subject. Adding images and videos is possible and simply requires you to type in a URL address. On first use, I found that the children did need guidelines about the use of the images you can add and what value they brought to their poster.
A great tool though that really engaged the chidlren.
Class accounts can be created by teachers and the products can be easily embedded into your class blog.
These set of tutorials are on the Voicethread website and allow you to learn the basics quickly and easily.
A cool web 2.0 application that allows you to post video, images and documents. You can annotate these and record over the top of them. \nExample uses: peer-assessing someone's work, presenting a photo based project with audio descriptions, explaining the use/features of e.g. a non-fiction text.
