The greenhouse effect is what keeps the earth at it's temperature. It occurs when heat is trapped in the atmosphere by gases. It prevents heat from being released into the outer atmosphere. With global warming, temperatures would drop at an alarming rate over the generations. The earth would then become an ice planet. Too much of the greenhouse gases released in the earths atmosphere increases this greenhouse effect, which can lead to rising temperatures and change in precipitation. These life changing gases include; methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and other lethal gases that are released into our atmosphere. These result from pollution of factories and industries mostly.
