• Coke has nothing to do with this urban legend. I have preformed such experiments in controlled environments and can confirm maggots do not develop due to the introduction of Coke
• • Supports the main reason the myth is busted, it's not a worm or maggot, its a "trichina worm"
• It's not a "maggot," it's calleds a "trichina worm," a small slender parasitic nematode, which infests the intestines of various mammals,including the "pig"! It doesn't matter whether the pork is expensive or cheap,it only matters how you cook it.

• • He is supporting that the myth is TRUE, which is completely false because worms will not crawl out of it. Also, the Snopes resource does not say to leave it outside.
• Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.
   
   If you pour Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, and wait a little while, you will see worms crawl out of it.
• • Stating again that they are not exactly just maggots... But trichina worms, which are microscopic so the experimenter couldn't even determine the fact off of first sight.
• Raw pork can have worms or worm eggs; that's one reason why you're told to cook it thoroughly. But IIRC, trichina worms are microscopic, and encyst themselves in the meat if they are present. They don't "crawl."

• Did you know that pork is full of tapeworms?
• • States a comment that it's obvious all raw pork contains tape worms, but they do not disperse like we think. Also, Snopes.com does not give a certain time length of how long to keep the pork in coke.
• Pouring soda on pork to get the worms to flee is a silly pastime. Anyone with even basic training in biology can tell you that there is nothing at all harmful about the worms in pork just so long as you cook the heck out of them before eating.
