The Energy Markets Inspectorate supervise the Swedish electricity, natural gas and district heating markets. The Inspectorate works for an improvement of the functioning and efficiency of these markets.

The Energy Markets Inspectorate is an agency subordinate to the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications. The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) is a directorate under the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. NVE’s mandate is to ensure an integrated and environmentally sound management of the country*s water resources, promote efficient energy markets and cost-effective energy systems and contribute to efficient energy use. The directorate plays a central role in the national flood contingency planning and bears overall responsibility for maintaining national power supplies. From 2009 NVE is assigned greater responsibility for the prevention of damage caused by landslides.
Enova SF was established in 2001 in order to drive forward the changeover to more environmentally friendly consumption and generation of energy in our country. We promote more efficient energy consumption and increased production of “new” renewable energy. We do this via targeted programmes and support schemes in the areas in which the greatest effect in the form of saved, converted, or generated clean energy can be documented.
Energy Norway is a non-profit industry organization representing about 270 companies involved in the production, distribution and trading of electricity in Norway. Energy Norway's members each year produce nearly 130 TWh, which is some 99 per cent of all power production in Norway. Our members have approximately 2.5 million grid customers, which is about 91 per cent of Norway`s grid customers. The members of Energy Norway have some 15 000 employees, and had a gross turnover to end-users in 2009 of 75-80 billion Norwegian kroner. Norway is a major energy nation in Europe based on a completely unique set of resources: hydropower, petroleum and new renewable energy sources such as windpower and biomass. Norway has only one per cent of Europe’s population, but 20 per cent of the hydropower resources, 40 per cent of the gas resources and 60 per cent of the oil resources.
NordREG is a cooperative organization for Nordic regulatory authorities in the energy field. Our mission is to actively promote legal and institutional framework and conditions necessary for developing the Nordic and European electricity markets.
