Once again Ayn Rand nails it.
While this does suggest people are not born bad, I don't know you can extrapolate from this that people are born good. It could just be one interesting interaction between one child and one game. It also suggests the impact of the group, and how the group can influence an individuals behavior just by exposure. Given 10 years, this child is likely to play the game more in line with how it was envisioned.
I think this sums up a lot of what I felt about the president's speech. He started off with a history of the accident that everyone in America is familiar with, and ended it pushing what amounts to his personal political agenda. Are windmills a good idea, yes. I just think if President Bush had made a similar speech, he would have been criticized for capitalizing on the catastrophe. That is what I feel like Obama did.
Go home and leave the governing of Arizona to the people of Arizona. Spend more time making your country one people aren't running from in droves and less time concerned about American politics.
that it will only make their message that much more powerful. But not killing them allows them to spread their message in ways it wouldn't if they were dead. It is a hard choice.
I think he should start calling his show Oddball. A note about his claim nationalizing industry would stop pollution. A free market is the best punishment for corporations, consumers have the power to stop spending money at companies that pollute - and if they don't then maybe they just don't care that much. I would be willing to bet that BP takes a hit in the market from this spill.
This bill clearly violates the first amendment, people should be able to share ideas, and communicate with others without having to register with the government.
Once again Ayn Rand nails it.
The article as a whole is a defense of liberal policies over the last 50 or so years. I picked this out, because it struck me as important. Liberal ideas have done a lot for this country, but so have conservative ideas. One taken without the other each can be dangerous, and bad for the country.
I think Bill Clinton has a point about the effect of language of people's behavior, and it is important when tough issues are being discussed to avoid language that could incite and inflame people to violence. The unfortunate problem with the point he made is the implication it is only parties on the right that have been violent, and that we need to be concerned about. Truth is, there are people on all sides with the ability and the willingness to be violent. Truth is language on all sides goes too far.
That is what the government is there for right?
It is much easier to talk to selectively talk to friends in the media, than to hold a full press conference. However, being open means talking to the entire press pool.
What Obama said isn't a big deal, he said responsible people don't blow money that they can't afford to lose.
I think everyone has had enough of these silly birthers and their crazy ideas.
She may not win the 2012 election, but she has enough support to alter the course of the election.
